Root [ROM]Leaked Stock 2.2 with Sense [EVERYTHING WORKS!!]

"Everything" works is very misleading, since everything does not work. More people are complaining of issues now that the glow of a version of 2.2 has worn off. In part, it has worn off due to the problems people are having.

Non tech friendly folks should avoid the leaked test rom (that is what it is) and wait for the real thing. We will all know a real leaked OTA, if or when available:

1. Will have the radio code
2. Froyo
3. Will be signed and ready for install on non-rooted devices

CM6 is not the same as the leaked Froyo. It's ported from the Nexus One (or so I assume since I got an email about my new Nexus One features when I installed it). Cyanogen runs much faster than the HTC's version of Froyo for some reason. And yes my average score after a bunch of tweaks is still about 770.

It runs faster mainly because SenseUI is removed. That and I bet Koush used some of his magic to tune it up a bit.

gonna do a wipe in clockworkmod and then install the rom and hydra kernel again..

If I am not mistaken all Hydra Kernels are .29 kernels not .32. Without a .32 kernel running on this leak it will break your camera and internal storage, possibly other things as well. This is the same reason the CyanogenMod ROMs and the SkyRaider ROMs had been having problems with the camera, and is still the reason that the camcorder does not work on these ROMs as well.

maybe try a wipe and clean install?? I've been getting mid 1100's to mid 1200's consistently. but nothing lower than 1100. Highest i got was 1279

No I've tried every combination of wipes and 2.2 full, 2.2 fixed, 2.2 streamlined I can find and I can just squeak over 800. My latest test using app cleaner to get rid of all the processess gave me 776.

I'm going to leave it as is tonight and see if battery life sucks as bad as I expect it will. If it does then I'm saying screw video recording and going back to CM6 test 8. If the battery life is comperable then I'll forego benchmark bragging rights for 720p video.

Those of you with low Quadrant scores... the culprit is the AAC build.prop fix.

I reverted build.prop back to stock config, and noticed the two issues with setting the build.prop to false for the AAC codec.
1. Quadrant benchmark definitely suffers from this change (as mentioned aboved)
2. m.youtube.com will not play videos.
My untouched build.prop file (keeping the AAC codec stock :( ) gives me Quadrant scores between 1100 and 1250. But HOT DAMN the streaming audio sounds so hollow without the fix.

Now for the other fixes:
- The 0 in Gmail can be fixed by pushing a different Gmail.apk
- The Market is fixed with a quick update (there's a fingerprint.zip file floating around that you run in recovery)
- 3G hotspot works by modifying the network settings... or you can use Wifi tether. Both work!

Those of you getting stuck in boot loops did something screwy in the leaked_OTA updating.
Those of you lost need to figure out how to use search buttons within threads. Instructions are posted/scattered and then compiled into a few places detailing to the "T" how to install it, how to fix the bugs, and how to get things running smoothly. It involves a bit of work to get things up and running, but that's why it requires ROOT... otherwise wait till VZW/HTC pushes the OTA officially

QUALIFYING NOTE:
This is my absolute first Android device. I have practically zero (0) experience with Unix/Linux. I've learned everything about this phone, how to root it, how to downgrade/unroot, how to flash... EVERYTHING by reading the forums here and on XDA. If you can't follow several simple instructions without needing to ask the same question from the umpteenth time, do all of us and yourself a favor. Wait for VZW and HTC to push out the official. You can use that waiting time to learn about the OS.

Yeah I see that. The CPU section has audio and video decode sections and that's where I see it hang the worst. But what I fail to understand is why not everyone with the stream fix has this issue, unless I'm using incomplete roms here that are leaving some things unchanged when I do a factory reset and then install just the rom (the tweaked one that was posted in this forum).

I was already rooted with the OTA and you're right, I installed via Clockwork, rebooted(longest reboot ever BTW), and had Froyo with all my settings and apps in place. It was simple and fast. I mentioned this earlier and asked if anyone else experienced this, but you are the first I've seen.

Oh well, I'll take it.

Same here no wiping the phone clean first and installed zip via clockwork.Nothing lost and a few things gained.

From what I've seen, the streaming fix is the main culprit for the decreased performance. I pretty much have seen everyone who applies it suffer.

I'm going to install this as soon as its done downloading I'm sooooooo pumped and I'm glad I installed the ota before I rooted!!!!!!!
