Root ROM Manager Help?

I'm now running CM7 on my Optimus V. I used a premium version of ROM Manager to download and correctly install the ROM. But now, when I try to flash the ClockworkMod Recovery thing, because it says I havent, The only option there is to select is the Optimus C LW690? Is it safe to flash for that on the Optimus V or is there a solution Im not seeing? Ive tried like uninstalling updates and reinstalling updates and such with no such luck. Any help is much appreciated

Read this http://androidforums.com/optimus-v-all-things-root/419080-truth-about-rom-manager.html as you can see you would have to flash a Froyo or stock ROM in order to install the recovery. This recovery will give you a black screen and require a pc and ADB established in your system path on the pc if you have a Hitachi screen.
For the proper recovery and install instructions go here http://androidforums.com/optimus-v-...tory-reset-your-rooted-phone.html#post3263770

I'll move this to the All Things Root sub-forum as well. More help by those that are rooted.

The thing is though that the ClockworkMod Recovery menu is still flashed to my phone, Rom Manager just isnt recognizing it. Also is there any reccomended stable ROMS?

... I used a premium version of ROM Manager to download and correctly install the ROM....
I am not saying this to be rude or mean to you in any way, the following is for others who read this thread:

The quoted sentence is an oxymoron. There is no way to use ROM Manager to "correctly install" anything on the Optimus V. Not so long as the dev leaves it up to others to be sure his manifests are proper! ;)

Once I finish the BacksideUpdater, I will extend the manifest to allow any active dev with a ROM for the OV to use it to insure proper downloads! But I won't leave it at that, I will personally test anything added to the BacksideUpdater, and answer any issues reported (take that RM! :P)!

I apologize if it was unclear. I just started with all this because I was so tired of the stock rom and my phone was running ridiculously slow

We can only give advice that will help. We don't want your phone messed up.
If sometimes you don't like quite what you read, read it over a couple of times, take into consideration the experience of the poster, etc. The advice we give we give freely, from experience.
ROM Manager will only work with CWMod recovery's and 2 modified CWMod recovery's. If you don't have the VM670NH_recovery.img the link is in the tutorials. Please read the tutorials very carefully.
All the info you need is there.:)

Quotes like that make me proud of sporting BACKside on my Optimus V!!

To all those that desire to develop anything on any type of electronic platform...pay attention, as a statement like the quote above is what defines class in the eyes of any type of developer or programmer. Hats offs to you Jerry!:thumbup::thumbup:

Rom manager detects my device as the optimus v now. Should I flash for it if I've already got it flashed before? Like is there any harm in flashing again? I'd just do the roms manually if I shouldn't but I wanted to make sure that there wasn't an easier way

Yup, once you have a decent recovery for your phone installed, its easy enough to do it yourself. You have more control, and you don't need to have faith in handwavium. You can see what's going on.

Please don't. Jerry never gave his permission, and didn't submit the rom. We have no way of verifying that it hasn't been tampered with. Also, Jerry has asked us not to do so.

Ok. Then ROM Manager will work. The newest version fixes the problem. The ROM's in there are old oudate versions that don't have all the functionality that the newest versions have.
