Root [ROM] MidnightRom: Sense 1.5.4

Been with the rom since it first came out, love it.

Just current update once you hit about 20% battery life left it constantly reboots. It's extremly unstable on low bat and I'm underclocked.. lol 1.296 ghz

I'd fully charge the battery then wipe battery stats in recovery.. don't know if that would fix it, but sounds like a logical fix.

My wifi does not work with the new 123 release or the prior 122 release:(. Ive tried redownloading several times and wiping the phone, and i still get an error. Hopefully the next release will work??

That's strange. I am having zero issues with WiFi. Or anything else for that matter. Try a factory reset from recovery. Then try again.

I had this issue as well. I believe this was referenced earlier in the thread, but have you tried wiping and flashing using the 4EXT recovery with SmartFlash enabled?

It was the only combination that worked for me. :)

Do we still have to extract boot.img and flash separately if we use 4ext recovery?

And just confirming, the download link isn't available yet is it? Or am I just blind.

You're blind. From the OP:

You do not need to extract boot.img if using 4ext. Make sure to enable smart flash in the settings if you're s-on.

This also might be an indication of a bad battery, where it's unable to supply the correct voltage to the phone as it drains beyond a certain point.

You probably should try wiping the battery stats in recovery and/or do a full reset & wipe and reinstall first, to see if that resolves your issue. If it doesn't, replace your battery.

Sometimes, with no known cause, after waking my phone from sleep mode, the phone will seize and restart before I can unlock it.
This is the exact problem that I'm having: actually, I'm still having it, in 1.2.3. Everything else seems to be working fine. And I'm not overclocked, either: I'm set to 1.188Ghz/lagfree, as an attempt to rule out overclocking as the issue. ADW Launcher EX is my launcher, but I'd be surprised if that was the cause.

It's not your launcher, my phone just seized again two times in a row ~5 minutes ago, running 1.2.3 using default clock (untouched) since I upgraded, using only the included things with the rom.

But there is a change in the seize on wake. Before, it would seize after the screen came on. Now it seizes before the screen comes on and only the capacitive button lights come on before the phone shuts off.

@OP
What logging program do you use? I'll be happy to leave it running in the background.

New version incoming! Should fix some issues that have been happening.
Also, finally got high speed internet again....WOO!

Does that setting kills my battery the problem I'm having

Yes overclocking lmost always makes the battery drain faster. also the governor has a big thing to do with it. do research on what the best setting should be for battery or performance

Also, I'm running 3.2.6 kernel on your ROM 1.2.3 and it's running perfectly. I was having all sorts of troubles with other kernel and I always do a fresh install. What is also strange is that I've had no error messages either when sending text messages :-D so far so awesome. Thanks

I think there's not gonna be research of it because I need to look up for htc evo 3d and I don't know were to found that research

What happened to smartass V2 in the No-frills? That seems to work the best on battery life for me.
Smartassv2 is basically the same as ondemand, so it was removed from the kernel. xondemand seems to be working the best ^_^

Yeaaa, that's just chrome. It happens to me all the time. Their browser is still kinda buggy. They have alot of issues they needa work out on it lol.
I personally just use firefox. Yeah, I like chrome better (when it's not being all *****y lol) But until they fix the issues, firefox is my browser of choice

Actually, the default, well...everything, is pretty good. If you're looking for better battery life though, you can always just clock down a bit.

I am very surprised to hear of issues . I myself had a ton of random reboots on previous versions . Since the latest release yesterday. It's been so smooth . I don't run sense as my default launcher. I use holo. Maybe that would help....

Yeah I'm thinking about that ima download Firefox,Google chrome been having a lot buggy lately its does get annoying

For the folks who are getting the random reboots, do take a look at the clock you're running it at - xthedakmanx includes a utility which lets you turn down the clockspeed.

I have been having good luck with kernel 3.2.3 on the 1.2.2 release of this rom, then adding in the loopysmoothness tweaks in init.d and also disabling sweep2wake, which I suspect is responsible for some of the pocket powerons we're hearing about?

I'm also undervolted by about 90 mv to save battery.

To get access to different, compatible kernels you need to sign up for an account at anthrax-kernels.us , then post once in the n00b forum. Once you've done that, your login will let you see the download threads in the forums, and you can mix and match kernels with midnight rom. Since all of the kernels are still beta, definitely worht trying until you find the one which works best for you.

4ext with smartflash seems to work fine for flashing those, though I see posts suggesting they don't.
