Root [ROM] MidnightRom: Senseless

noob question .

How do i get the changes in kernel tuner to stick ?

restore settings

1. On boot compleeted
or
2. int.d script

?

On boot completed is what you want. The other option will allow the rom to overwrite your settings.

Pushing power and volume down does take a screen shot. I just tried it ^_^

Does not work on mine.
As a matter if fact, I have tried 6 different apps, and each one has issues with force closing or causing reboots on my phone. The only way I can screenshot is by holding down the power button, then choosing the screenshot option.

I've had very good luck with screen shot ultimate, a lot of roms that I use seems to have broken both the Sense and ICS button combo's. Good luck :D

This is what I get using it, and I used all the adjustments in the settings.
I am having absolutely no luck with screenshot apps. I'm not sure exact why it's only happening with my phone, like the update to this rom. I'm beginning to think maybe I should have left well enough alone.

Sorry, using the shutdown menu works and it's not too much of a pain.:eek:
Actually I just checked my settings and am using root 4, try that and see if it works for you.

Is that an application, because I can't find anything named that.

No, it's one of the settings in screen shot ultimate, the other settings come out scrambled like your screen shot but that setting works great on my phone.

I'm still getting that "download errored" when I try to update through goo manager. Any other way to get it?

Does anyone else use 4EXT? Whenever I try to use the app, but it just freezes up on me when I select anything on the main menu. It started happening when I updated to 1.07...
I tried reinstalling the app and even doing a full wipe and reinstalling the rom to but I'm still having problems.

[EDIT] I had a suspicion it might just be Anthrax, so I went back to the MAC Kernel and the problem is fixed :). It even fixed the problem with Kernel Tuner force closing all the time. I don't know why Anthrax just never plays nice with my phone...

Are you trying to do it over wifi? If that doesn't work, then just download it on a computer from the link in the OP.

Yea, tried both 3g & wifi, with the same result.
After downloading to pc though, I put it on the sd card folder, then just flash it from there?

Got another question for y'all (since it was suggested that I ask it here).
Normal Screenshots (power button & home button, or power plus volume down) at do not work after I rooted with this rom. Is there another one step method for doing them, or do I have to download a rooted app for it?

Just hold the power button down until the power menu appears and then select screenshot

[edit] woops just read the above posts. For some reason I didn't see them.

Yup that's all you need to do. Put it on your sd card, boot into recovery, and flash. You can delete the rom off your sd card after you flash, if you're low on space, but it doesn't hurt to keep it in there incase you need to reflash.

One more thing.
I know I have to clear the cache and dalvik cache, but do I have to do a complete wipe as well?

The ROM seems great so far, but it seems to have a problem that many other ROMs also have. The Bluetooth A2PD sounds terrible. I'm not talking about the difference between 192 kbit and 128 kbit mp3 here. More like the difference between 192 kbit and 32 kbit, with any treble sounding like it's being played through a jar of vaseline. ROMs based on Cyanogenmod are the only ones so far that seem to fix it.

I'm not sure if this is a kernel issue or what. I know it lies somewhere in the Bluetooth stack, in the bitpool settings, but I can't find it anywhere in the kernel source I got from HTC. Is this something that can be fixed, or would I be better off taking it up with the Anthrax guys?

Well, I finally got the update, and maybe it's just me, but my Evo is snappier than ever.
One question though. Was the ROM Tool Box improved? I remember someone saying that the one in 1.06 didn't work with applying themes.

I'm looking for the files that Google search uses. I want to flash the Google Now .zip, but I hear that it deletes those files. I want to add an .bak to them so that I can save them.
Anyone know the location of them?

Even after the update, the phone still resets during calls.

Same, also get resets during/after calls. I clean flashed the rom twice to make sure. Plus i also did my friends phone with the senseless recently and he has confirmed that hes having this issue as well still.

Otherwise, great rom, i just switched over to the senseless side a week or so ago, and loving the battery life and speed. Also bought Nova prime, first i ever heard of the launcher but very nice.

Updated from 1.06 (which was having no problems) to 1.07. Wiped dalvik plus cache. Booted fine, however found two issues -

1)I use Juice defender to control my wifi and mobile data to save battery. It appears sometimes when unlocking the screen mobile data never comes on. If you go to the quick settings, you will see it is grayed out and says starting. Rebooting fixed it however within 2 hours or so it did it again. This time I tried to turn it to airplane mode and back. It got "stuck" in airplane mode and phone hung up. I had to pull battery.

2)If I do a restart > reboot the phone will appear to shut down but the screen stays on but is completely black. Phone never reboots just sits. I can turn the screen on and off with the power button, but have to pull battery to get it to reboot.

I forgot to back up before updating to 1.07 but am happy to report reflashing to 1.06 and only wiping dalvik and cache it was back to working fine.

I had similar issues to what you describe in 1), but with wifi. My wifi connection just went out randomly and I couldn't get it to connect to my wifi router at all unless I restarted my phone. I went back to 1.06 and everything was fine, but for some reason I decided to try going back to 1.07 and it's been ok so far.I've only been on 1.07 for a few hours, so maybe the problem hasn't resurfaced yet though. I'm hoping it was just a bad/wonky flash and the problems are gone now.
Oh and I did have problems with rebooting too, but they stopped once I changed the kernel because of other problems I was having (see one of my posts above).

Could random rebooting have anything to do with the overclocked CPU? Bearing in mind that two chips are never made equal, maybe some of these phone just cannot handle the overclocked defaults?

I have a similar problem with my WiFi not staying up. When the screen goes to sleep, if it stays that way more than a few minutes, the WiFi disconnects. Sometimes, I have to turn the WiFi back off, then on, to get it to reconnect. There was even one time where I had to reboot the phone to get the WiFi back up.
Other than that, this has turned out to be a great ROM. It is easy on the juice, and operates smoothly.
