Root [ROM] Mik3D - RC1- [10/31/2011]

You will have to wait. Mik only puts his downloads on his forum. I was trying to get a theme for MikG, too, and it sucks to have to wait. I should have downloaded when I had the chance

OMG i have not been so happy for a rom in a while and i must say this rom is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i have the golden monkey 1.1 setcpu set to 245/1190 ondemand and screen off profile 128/245 with the v6 supercharger set to #8. this thing is flying like no other i have been on. smoothest rom i have been on. plus sense 3.0! all i need now is a sbc kernel and i'm set.

seriously guys try this out. i know it is a beta. but damn this should be a r1 as is.

I am using the same settings also and I am loving this thing!
 
I can grab this when I get home. I found a mirror for 2.45 last night which is not the 3D version.

Huge difference? I love the 2.45 so far a lot.

Also, if I do a titianium backup and flash the new ROM what do I have to start over with? Personal settings and setting up email accounts and then running titanium to import my apps..is that about it?
 
I wish I new what was safe to delete as far as the apps go in this ROM, I mean I know sometimes deleting something you think you don't need or want will make something else that you use not work...oh well guess it's trial and error time.
 
I cannot lie.. I love this ROM.. The look and feel is PERFECT.. I am going to go with this.. Even though the HTC Sense Bluetooth Stack in incomplete.. This is just a nice ROM...

It really is great...just wish I had some options for changing the status bar icons.
 
Hey guys,

This is my first time rooting my Evo so first off I'd like to say thanks to all of you that grace us with such fantastic information on this site!

I just flashed Mik 3D after running Mik 2.45 for the last couple of days. I'm loving it and it seems to be running pretty smoothly so far even without any tweaks. I flashed Golden Monkey 1.1 and using Set CPU it is still saying that maximum speed is 1000 MHz.

Shouldn't GM have given me the ability to overclock? Is there something I'm missing?

Once I get this squared away I'm gonna give the V6 SuperCharger a whirl. Having lots of fun!

Ocnbreeze, I'm trying to not flash as much but you're making it hard. :D I love mik3D but I love Decks rom. I guess I'll be downloading this soon.
 
What stable kernel are you pairing up with this ROM to improve battery life? I may wait until they release a stable version and just use 2.45 for now, since I really like it a lot.

there is only two kernels out that we have to try. so it is either golden monkey 1.1 or freedom kernel .8. try them out both are good but with kernels YRMV. just give them a day or to before you move on to the next one. also read the kernel guide that is stickied.
 
Downloaded, to my phone, kinda scared to flash this without pc support. Still haven't got my puter back. :(
What the hell, I'm gonna flash it tonight. I like to live on the edge!
 
Ok Im having some issues with Mik3d. A lot of apps are force closing. I tried wiping a few times with no luck. This is also strange ... when i go into the market to try anf uninstall those apps ... there is no " unintall" option ... just " open". I cant open things like flikie wallpaper ... and cpu master. Getting a lot of force close pop ups too. Any ideas? May have to reflash it.

another idea is to try and fix permissions in recovery. i believe it is the advanced option in amon ra.

Did you happen to flash the goldenmonkey kernel as well? I was having this problem also and it seems to have started after I flashed that kernel.
 
I have been using the rom for the day and during that time I have been doing a significant amount of texting.. It seems as if the ROM has slowed down.. Its isnt as smooth as it was when I first flashed.. It more choppy.. Any ideas as to why?.

I dont have any kernels installed or anything.. I just flashed the ROM thats it...

try a kernel and overclock it with setcpu. if you want to learn more on kernels check out the kernel sticky.

also try wiping dalvik cache and cache and see if that helps.
 
did you wipe before you flashed ? flash golden monkey 1.1 kernel. Wipe cache and dalvich before you flash and make a nandroid backup. You should also overclock it to about 1152 if your not overclocked. Try CPU Master for overclocking ....its free and i really like it.
