Root [ROM] Mik3D - RC1- [10/31/2011]

try a kernel and overclock it with setcpu. if you want to learn more on kernels check out the kernel sticky.

also try wiping dalvik cache and cache and see if that helps.

I did a power off and powered the phone back on and things are back to normal..

SetCPU is a paid app correct?..

SetCPU does not seem to work on mikg 2.45. I disabled the PERF, and rebooted, but the green numbers in the widget still show the min and max #s as the settings, and I wanted the computer clock dropped down lower to 800 max.

Am I missing something?

you need a kernel to be able to over and under clock. what kernel are you on?

dohhhh!!

I have no kernel..I guess I should pass for now..doesn;t sound like anything is really stable.

Guess I gave away 2 bucks.

OCN, thanks a million for the suggestion to try this ROM. New HTC EVO 4G, first time flash with this ROM after a failed SPRINT LOVERS ROM. I wiped it all good manually and installed the MIK 3D B1 ROM. The first flash gave me every imaginable program FC, so I did it over again and now I am having a few FC's with related processes android.htccontacts and htc.android.mail. Android.htccontacts FC is not all the time, just with some contacts....at least until i get into the mail app. Htc.android.mail FC happens everytime.

Hotspot works, but is not that fast. I'd like some suggestions on that..

Everything else with this ROM seems to be great.

Any ideas?

wipe data, dalvik cache and cache and use the vr superwipe and flash the rom again.

I have to say that your posts/replies are by far the best help I have ran accross. I know that when I was dealing with the failed SPRINT LOVERS ROM the image was staying on the root and would attempt to install automatically every time I booted it. So perhaps there is some stuff lingering that is causing issues. I will post my results.

if you used the PC36IMG then you need to chnage the name otherwise it will keep asking you to update.

This was the 3rd rom I tried, and by far the best. I tried KingROM, Synergy, and now this one! I love the panoramic camera, Sense 3.0 runs VERY smooth, this combined with the monkey kernal and it runs fabulous!!

Highly recommend this rom

If I prefer to keep my CWM backups to avoid switching to another , where can i find a version to rollback so I can avoid the "not supported" edify issue? If I understand I should be able to rollback CWM and then use VR Superwipe and then re flash...correct?

Never mind, I am restoring my CWM backup and installing amon, then nandroid, and using superwipe hoping everything is clean. Then I will start with the new ROM. This is a great looking ROM and I havent seen any negative comments.

Your thoughts on my plan?

That is probably the best plan. Amon-ra is a very good recovery, and its advised you use it.
Once you have Amon-ra installed and you have a working nandroid with Amon-ra, wipe several times and use the vr-superwipe, then flash the ROM.
Your force closures were probably due to an incomplete wipe. No big deal. :)
I just flashed the beta version, and I'm very happy! This thing is wayyyy smoother than A-1, hard to believe. Runs great, and that's with the stock kernel! Wait until I get the monkey on this thing with setcpu. Then its on like kong!

WOW! Amon worked way better. I especially like the usb toggle since i forgot to copy superwipe..haha...oops. but I cold just tell that the wipe got rid of a lot more files the ClockworkMod. Now I am flashing Mik3D and hoping for a clean install.

Perhaps I too will try monkey, what is the alternative to setpcu?

I'd just stick with SetCPU. Never heard of an alternative, and it's great, works great, looks great, has many skins that you choose. I like setcpu. I don't use it very often, I always forget to install it when I flash a new rom, but it's nice when I remember to use it.

Well...no luck. Still getting the FC. Could it be because I skipped the email acct set up during the first boot? Could it be a conflict with the sync of the market apps downloaded from my google acct? Could it be another program i have installed or restored from titanium? maybe I'll flash again, this time set up the email and NOT Sync my market apps and NOT restore until I know if I get the FC.

Ok this is by far the best rom ive flashed so far. Super smooth and fast. Loving it and everything seems to work so far !

i would re-download the rom and wipe well wipe dalvik cache, cache, data, and flash the superwipe) and re-flash the rom.

if you need help with it read the flashing section in the http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all-things-root/395962-guide-rooting-gingerbread-revolutionary.html sticky.

UP AND RUNNING! FYI, This time I did not skip the email settings during initial set up after flashing. I figured maybe if I set them up manually instead of restoring them I might have a better chance to not cause a FC. I also did not sync google market downloads and selectively picked titanium programs to restore.

I owe many thanks to the forums here! I'll wait a few days and ut the monkey on it.

One last thing that bugs me...Why is the hotspot not very fast connection speeds?

not sure i use the wireless tether app. you can get the link to it in the http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all-things-root/395962-guide-rooting-gingerbread-revolutionary.html sticky towards the bottom. there is a list of links and one is the tethering guide. it has the link to the app.

I've been running this rom for 2 days and have had just a few problems.

#1 I had to disable 4G to get my hotmail account setup

#2 It keeps telling me my flash is disabled due to low battery power or cold weather or Wi-Fi hotspot enabled. (any tips on this appreciated)

OMG i have not been so happy for a rom in a while and i must say this rom is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i have the golden monkey 1.1 setcpu set to 245/1190 ondemand and screen off profile 128/245 with the v6 supercharger set to #8. this thing is flying like no other i have been on. smoothest rom i have been on. plus sense 3.0! all i need now is a sbc kernel and i'm set.

Copied your settings for v6 and setcpu... WOW is all that I can say. SUPER fast.
