Root [ROM][MIUI] Official MIUI [PORT]

Yea man, I've done it over and over too, and it just won't work.

even tried MetroOFF's, not that it really does anything I haven't done.

Does handcent use their own servers like GoSms? if so then Handcent users can send "mms" to back and forth with other handcent users as a Service they offer.

When I was trying to make GoSms work, it would only use their cloud service.

so if I got this all right... to make MMS work, for the most part...

the system gets the mmc/mnc from build.prop, which then searches /system/etc/apn.conf for this "tag", and if found, it writes values found into telephony.db??

All I do is implement playfulgod's mms fix...

Did not fix it :( this never happened before. Why now?

It works for me. I actually have been having a recent problem with my media volume not adjusting... You have to notice that this ROM isnt ACTUALLY for our Optimus M, so if they have problem, we will have the same problems. I wish we could get some support from CyanogenMod or Bugless Beast...

No complaints here man, all things take time. Could you do us a favor and add the Thread link for this rom from the V forums into the OP? it may make it easier for some of us to track what is happening without having to subscribe to too many threads... also might be as good idea for the other port roms.

The original link for the V is in the top of the op.

HA! ah crap, this is what I get for having too many windows open, i thought I was posting this in the BACKside thread! lol... I need more coffee >.<

It happens, it happens. :D I'll post the link to the original ROM on the BACKside thread.

Changelog 4-14-12
  • Modify the search key for the lock screen? -(I don't know)
  • themes apply without restarting

  • Replaced Browser with Miren (Looks like a MIUI web browser)
  • MIUI Camera is in
  • MMS fixed on Optimus V (Should now work on our phone, I am now trying t3084's method of doing the MMS fix, please post results on MMS. Thanks)---It doesn't work :(
  • gapps are built-in, to get Market to come up: sign into your account through Settings>Personal (on the top)>Accounts and sync

Installation:
Same as OP, do not install gapps though:
1)Wipe everything
2)Install 3/23/12
3)Boot into phone, reboot into recovery
4)Wipe /cache, dalvik cache
5)Install 4/14/12 (link below)

Make sure you follow the instructions or else it will not boot or you will get a boot loop!!!!!
Make Nandroidbackup if you don't have one!

Edit:
Download link pulled off until MMS works

Note: If you get a Market error after it updates to Play Store, Force Close it and it should work.

What's his method?

This:

Hey guys, I was working on tweaking the MMS so it just stick no matter what, and I got it to work, but the only thing I can't edit is the damn update-script! I keep getting status 6?! I'll try again from linux.

no need for:
/data/eri.xml (i dunno I guess it could be??)
/data/mpcs.sql
/mpcs.sh

anyways the only changes that needed to be made to make all the settings stick is to make changes to "/system/etc/apns-conf.xml"
Code:
<apns version="6">
    <apn carrier="MetroPCS" numeric="311660" apn="" mcc="311" mnc="660" server="null" proxy="proxy.metropcs.net" port="3128" mmsc="http://mms.metropcs.net:3128/mmsc" mmsproxy="" mmsport="" authtype="3" />
  <apn carrier="metropcs" mcc="310" mnc="016" apn="wap.metropcs.net" user="LG-MS690" password="" server="http://mms.metropcs.net:3128/mmsc" mmsc="http://mms.metropcs.net/mmsc" mmsport="3128" type="default,supl,mms" />
</apns>

He got status 6 for getting delete happy with the updater-script, he figured it out...he accidentally deleted the unmount commands...

APN's don't show up though
