Root [ROM] MIUI.us 1.9.23

Yeah see what I mean? I'm going to slam this phone with usage today and see if I can even get it to drain in 12 hours, if that's possible. And btw mine isn't overclocked/undervoltaged, just stock (I have launch model and can't get a stable 1.2+GHz out of it anyway).

You can get the phone to drain in 12 hours (it takes quite a bit less than 12 hours if you really put it to use) easily.

anyone else having issues with connectivity on this rom? both bluetooth and WiFi are extremely buggy, to the point that it cuts out every 2 seconds, making it impossible to use either of them.

Really really love the ROM, battery life is great, no issues there, but I do have problems with the phone being really slow, coming out of sleep I cant unlock the phone for 30 seconds half the time, sometimes when people call me and it wakes up the phone I cant slide to answer their call, my screen freezes and I have to call them back after it "catches up". Coming out of phone calls does this too, it stays on the "call ended" screen for up to 30 seconds before it will let me do anything, once it gets back up and running it seems to work ok, but its getting really annoying.

Is there a processor app built in to this that could be causing the slow reaction time? Not sure what would be causing the problem, both 1.9.16.1 and 1.9.23 (which I just upgraded to a couple days ago) do the same thing, other wise the rom is super awesome and I plan to stick with it even with the issues, but it would be nice to get those fixed :)

So how come every time I start up I get a lovely dialog saying
"Move data to SD card
Screenshots and photos will be migrated to the SD card to free up more internal memory"???

The first time it was cute. Silly phone, I don't have screenshots or photos in internal memory to migrate... But you go ahead and do it any way you little ambitious rascal!

But now it is still doing it every time, and it is getting old pretty quick... Any thoughts?

I have the same problem as well, but what you can do to "fix" this, using Root explorer, or whatever explorer you choose, go to /data/sdcard and delete whatever you see in there (or move it if you wish). Whenever MIUI says its moving data from internet to SD to save space, for w/e reason it seems that it doesnt actually move the data. So to fix this problem, /data/sdcard is your answer. Hope this helps

ok so I just downloaded and flashed MIUI and i'm loving it, it seems much better then the froyo version.

but i'm having trouble getting the battery to show individual percentage points, it is only showing it in intervals of 10, is there a fix for this or I am stuck with it?

Anyone else have lockscreens that don't quite fit? I'm trying out the puzzle lockscreen from the online manager, and I can see a small vertical left sliver that isn't properly covered, that the background shows through. I really want to try and change the SMS to Handcent, but I can't even get the manifest.xml out, 7z keeps telling me something's wrong.

Otherwise, I think I like Miui. Tap Tap App actually works properly again! Circle Button widget doesn't seem to, though. :( Win some, lose some. Some of the options are pretty sweet.

my wifi cuts out from time to time..it will show that im connected but then i cant browse the web, download music etc. Any ideas???

One issue I have found is it seems all the wallpapers, except the stock one, even most included with the themes I have tried are off center. I have even downloaded some for Zedge and same problem.

You have to be careful of changing the dpi. On the Nook Color tablet, changing the dpi meant a lot of apps weren't available via market and over 240 and you risked making it unbootable. I've never changed it on my X tho.

BTW, I'm starting to get MIUI update withdrawal. I think it's time to wake up the dev responsible for our X. I know they were probably out waaay too late and had waaaay too much fun, but there's an update that needs to be done and we've got things we're putting off b/c we know .30 will be here as soon as we walk away from the keyboard.... :D

DXC just posted that the update will be tomorrow. They are using the base from the Defy...what can we expect?

Edit: Well technically today lol since I posted at 12:03am

Last week's update wasn't until the middle of the week so I really shouldn't complain since it's been less than a week. :D

there is data "stuck" in the internal memory
you have to use root explorer and go manually delete it
I don't recall the path though, it's like \data\miui\cache
or \data\cache\.miui
something along those lines

Hi guys. I posted this on droidforums.net as well, but I really need as many people helping me as possible :/ Anyway, I'm just gonna copy-pasta this from there to here :P Yes, this is my first post as well, but I'm not a Droid noob, nor am I a forum noob. Please give my reply some consideration.

Hey guys! MIUI is great, isn't it? I posted a thread because I'm having a huge problem, but maybe I can get my answer here. I flashed GB 2.3.5 onto my DX through SBF Flash for Linux, it worked fine, and I rooted it with the 1-click Root app for Windows. Root worked, I put Droid2Bootstrap on my phone, went into recovery, did the data/cache and dalvik cache wipe like everyone's been saying, and then went to install update from zip>choose zip(or whatever the option is)>MIUI Shadow (or again, whatever the DX version is called). It worked great, I booted into MIUI and had absolutely no troubles with it the first time. However, when I rebooted my phone, the boot took forever (like, 5 minutes) and when I opened up my phone again, it had done a factory reset, wiping all my configurations, downloads, accounts, and even service(I had to call in and activate my phone again), and Torch/Themes apps wouldn't work at all. I rebooted again and once again it did a clean wipe, and now every time my phone powers down and back on it does this factory reset crap. I have v. 1.9.23 MIUI. I may try flashing 8.19.11 because I believe that's the last stable version for Droid X and see if it works. I'm thinking it installed in my phone's memory for some reason instead of the hard drive, kind of like when you boot a Linux LiveCD, so it's not saving my settings. Any help would be appreciated!

TL;DR Every time I boot my Droid X (GB 2.3.5 SBF Flashed with Linux, rooted with 1-click Root for Windows app) with MIUI v. 1.9.23 for Droid X, it does a complete factory reset. Torch app and Themes app have stopped working as well.

I've used CM7 and Apex 2.0 before MIUI and I have to say that I like it the best. I put it on my wife's X and she loves it too. Great battery life so far.

I had this same problem.

I ended up SBF'ing back to stock, re-rooting, and restoring from the nandroid I had made from another ROM.

Couple of days later, I ended up re-loading Miui. Been stable ever since. Dunno why....
