Root [ROM] Mobster Rom HD/Lite - 031513

I tried the suggested application, but it turns off all locking mechanisms.

I actually want the pattern unlock to work, and protect my phone. What I am trying to avoid is having to "double unlock" my phone every powerup. First unlock is a screen swipe, presumably to reduce false powering from draining the battery. Followed by my security patern unlock. I just don't get their thinking.

A security patern should never be simple enough for accidental access, so why not let it handle the confirmation required to keep powered?

Wiped it all and restored the Nandroid sans Wimax and everything is good to go now. /system wipe not being in the wipe menu in TWRP1.1.1 threw me for a loop after using Clockwork all the time on my triumph.

Thanks for the great rom!

It might be too late for me. I own two 3500 mah batteries already! But I did buy a cradle that I would really like to use, and I have yet to find a belt case big enough for the fat 3VO.

I will try out the suggestions, I assume I will need to root before I can use SETCPU?

Yes you have to be rooted...and why do you need 2? I'm a really heavy user and 4000mAh is plenty for me :/

Hi all. I s-off'd my phone today and installed this rom. Are the kernel changes subtle? I don't notice any difference and my antutu scores are about 10% or more lower (than Harmonia.. didn't use stock for very long). I just ran a quadrant and got 2899. Flash Image GUI shows the kernel as 3.0.16-g4211684 #1 SMP PREEMPT Thu Apr 26.. Is this correct? Eventually I flashed this rom straight over harmonia. I tried the nandroid and it wouldn't work. I tried a factory reset and then the nandroid. That was interesting. It told me I had a voicemail l.. lol.

Am I supposed to flash another version before coming to the latest version? For anyone who had harmonia 3.05 and then came to this, what method did you use? How are your benchmarks? I had the anthrax rl1 kernel before with harmonia, but I had random reboots. I tend to use my cell phone as an alarm so random reboots are a bad thing. That was even after I tried underclocking in case it was heat or a lack of oomph in my processor to meet the overclock.

I tried flashing the backup I made just after I got the phone home and rooted it and then flashing this rom. I've tried flashing many different ways to see if I was missing something.

It's still early in the Evo V game, and I'm pleased with the phone under any of the ROMs.. Thanks to all the people involved.

That issue is weird since I made that nandroid completely free of anything that's tied to me i wiped system, data, caches, and anything else I could find I even flashed the stock rom before flashing 1.0.4.1 and made a nandroid right after I confirmed that it booted

And on another note the Anthrax kernel is what boosted your quadrants so high.....

As a matter of fact this Rom boost your quadrant scores by 800-1000 compared to stock where I was getting 1900 now I get about 3000! And that's without the Anthrax kernel I could probably get 4000 with the Anthrax kernel (maybe..... I'm not willing to break 3D or 4G for overclock)

Thanks for the quick reply and all the time and effort this must take. Nothing but respect for that. I agree with not wanting to break USB/3D/4G/reboots for overclock.. I don't do anything crazy intensive and my old OV did everything I wanted to do. This is just a new toy and the screen is much prettier. I booted up my OV once and the screen was unbearable now.

Yeah its definitely not worth the overclock

But seriously I didn't expect that so I removed the nandroid install method

Yep

I was on harmonia 3.05 then used the nandroid install first version, and it flashed fine, quadrants were 2700-2800 's, fluctuated after I filled my device with apps and all but still higher than any rom before, I installed it plugged into my PC, bringing up twrp 1.1 with the command prompts, had not been on any previous version of mobz

Edit: I also get a voicemail notification now that I can't get to stop

Is the voicemail app part of sense or was it left off this rom? Can't find it anywhere. (using the nandroid backup) Had to change the vmail # in setting too since I believe it has your number in it Mobster.

Think I'm going to wipe it out again and flash right from the rom zip and see if I can get that working.

I'm pretty sure that it was a sense app

And yeah I found out about that so I removed the nandroid method

I can't seem to get app updates to download from the Play Store. I get the triangle notification with an error (921). I've tried force close, clear data, reboot - to no success. Any suggestions?

Just dealt with this again,

Do this :
Force close play store app,
Clear data,
Go into phone settings and remove account,
Then open play store and sign in there,
Should be able to download and update.....

Is there anyway to disable the default lock screen? I'm using GoLauncher and trying to use GoLocker, but when I activate one of its Lock screens, I first have to go through the default ROM lock screen, enter in my pin, and then the GoLocker lock screen comes out. Any tips? Thanks

Im getting a voicemail notification now that I can't get to stop

The only way to fix that would be to restore a nandroid backup made prior to 1.0.4.1 or to factory data reset and flash another Rom......

Sorry but you can't Factory Data Reset on Mobster Rom V

New Update brings these changes

To Update to Mobster Rom V 1.0.5 use TWRP 1.1.1 and Wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache then Flash the Rom (Factory Data Reset has not been tested this time and is not recommended)

thanks again mobs, any chance at creating update.zips for those already keeping up with all your amazing work?

nevermind...apparently the tether from 4g works faster than my ****ing home internet...im downloading at 2 megabytes/second... thats like 15-20mbps...
