Root [ROM] Mobster Rom HD/Lite - 031513

Mobster, I want to ask, is there anyway to do an update without having to reinsall all the apps I have? I tried to backup my data and restore it after I update (since 1.4). However it keep saying system UI crash or cannot run. What should I do to fix this problem?

SystemUI has had major changes since 1.4 restoring data is not recommended but I do suggest restoring just your downloaded apps with either the apks or a tool like Titanium Backup
 
Thanks, Prey and Brycee! Found a couple of outdated guides online for Titanium.... then I just winged it! Everything is up and running right for me so far. Well, except for the Minutes Checker app. I'll try to reinstall later.
 
So I flashed the ROM. Kinda hated the new System UI look(Status Bar and Quick Settings icons) So I had to reflash the 1.4 one. Also didn't like the dark theme for Gmail/Calendar. The new boot animations were meh. But I'm very picky.
I like the AOSP look of the settings. Finally YouTube works for me. Would only load 5 minutes of a vid then saying I have a network error. But if I have it on HD it loads. Slowly but it loads.

Other then that great job!
 
just flashed 2.12 (also updating from 2.05), i like how there's the option for 'improve face matching' for face unlock now :). Also love the new settings UI; it looks great.

I've always wanted a dark themed gmail, but now that i've seen it, it's kind of shocking at how dark it is, haha. I'm trying to get used to the change.

However there's 2 minor issues i've found. it seems like when i use face unlock, in combination with a pin, the feature for 'lock phone after 5 minutes' doesn't seem to work; the phone always locks itself everytime i press the power button, and i have to go to face unlock again. currently using 'no lock' app to keep my phone unlocked at home.

also having some trouble with leedroid's 'press menu button to unlock' (instead of using the slider on the lockscreen). I'm almost certain i got it to work a couple of times, but i can't get it to work anymore. Anyone figured this one out?
 
Quick question about ram usage. Sometimes I refresh and kill all apps from the task manager, but it shows there are still 5xx MB is used. It only drop (down to like 350MB ) until I reboot the phone. Is that usual?

Just tried that, still reboots. I've experienced this on Midnight ROM before and even stock once actually. Previous versions of this rom haven't had an issue like this though so it's weird.
 
With the new SettingsUI, I can't seem to find any interface for 4G settings. I know there's a toggle in the notification pull-down menu, but there's no other settings for 4G that I can find.

heard about similar issues with different camera apps on different roms. did he change the camera since 2.05?

I use Advanced Task Killer (although people critize it on ICS) IMO its a better task killer I can close all my open apps with it and get over 450MB free Ram easily highest I've gotten was 575MB free Ram!!!!
 
I finally installed the 4EXT loader and this ROM. I expected instability, after all the posts here, but have found it to be as stable as Harmonia so far.

The install and application redo, went well. I am glad I did the extra Ti Backup, since I found the restore from System Tuner Pro to work, but not support multi app restore.

I usually try new launchers, as long as I can customize it acceptably. So far I like this one. Not as flashy as Go but a lot less bloated with crap I don't use.

So far I am very pleased with your work. I always knew I would like this ROM, I had wanted to give the others a chance first, This minimal bloat, optimized performance and battery, reflects my needs well.

Hi guys, I'm brand new to rooting so please bear with me if these questions have already been answered.

If I understand correctly, can I still use this ROM if I'm S-ON but I use 4ext recovery?

Also, is it possible for a bad ROM/bad flash to permanently brick a phone or does it not matter as long as I can get back into recovery?

I've noticed this too. Mobs, is there any way to add a shortcut to 4g settings? Also, there's no way to do a profile or prl update any more. Suggestions?

That would require some serious editing to the framework and the Settings.apk so i ended up putting a 4G Toogle in the Quick Settings IMO its really the same....... the Sense Settings.apk although it had a UI for 4G all it really did was allow you to turn off and on 4G which is exceptly what the Toggle iin the Quick Settings does :)

For profile and prl i suggest rolling back to Stock to update those but usually you only update those when something is wrong with your phone Service wise which you'll want to be on stock when attempting a fix
