Root [ROM] MTDEV-CM7 build 2013-03-03

The change to the theam color means you are logged into your google account. I think that the upgrade process got your msid changed. That's your "modem" phone number. Can you browes with WiFi? I would think you would be able to. Make a nandroid backup and flash the[n] unroot [MTDEV-CM7].

I don't mean, nor intend to be a 'pain,' but I'm not a flashing expert quite yet. I am having a bit of difficulty on how to do this on this forum. Is there a thread with a walkthrough on how to achieve this step-by-step? I really don't want to brick my phone. For example, Should I clear Dalvik, format, etc.?

Then call them up and fix your MSID. After that, and making sure that you have data access, restore your backup.

Understood. I can't find the thread containing the following rom anymore, but should I just simply flash to the original "stock" ROM, call Virgin, have them fix the MSID issue?

Thanks in advance. I'm an idiot.

I was wondering i'm on the newest build of cm7 dec 28th and when the volumes up all the way the ringtone doesn't ring am i missing something or is this a known issue? it only vibrates the phone no ringtone plays thanks for the help in advanced can you send me a pm so i get this tho i will check here probably soon thanks

also i'm on the one with no bootsound i don't know if that matters

No this is not a known issue. I am also on the no bootsound build and my ring tones work fine.

The only suggestion I have is to go to your nandroid backup and verify that the ringtones work. Then reflash the rom.

Sheesh, a little hard on your self?
To do a nandroid backup you enter recovery *reboot to recovery or power up while holding both volume buttons) and look for backup and restore. Then backup. you would need enough space on your SDcard. Then grab the UROOT ROM that you can get to by looking at my signature (Look ma...) You might want to modify it like I did. I went inside it with WinRAR and removed the recovery.img and rremoved the entry in the updater script. I think I'll upload that later to the MTDEV wesite.

Any way, the rest should be easy. Do your thing , remember that you don't need to be setup on stock just to change your MSID, And when you are done, back to recovery *you will have to replace the factory recovery if you didn't remove it from the ROM) an back to backup and resotre... You know.

My mobile data quit working it says 3g but when I go to the play store or something it says no connection I'm on 12/28 it was working fine before i paid my bill and restarted my plan any ideas?

If you paid online then it's possible that VM messed up your MSID. That's your modem number. Think like DSL, two numbers for one line.

Would you do me a favor? Run a nandroid backup and reflash without your personal apps? Just the ROM and gapps. Let me know.

OK I did a backup and reflashed with gapps its still not working

I hate to interrupt a conversation, but I have a question (Or need to point out an error, I'm not quite sure whose end this is on yet, hence the question haha).

So I use the Jaybird Freedom Sprint BT headphones for music all of the time, and the previous version of CM7 I was using (I believe it was the last release of the g60 style ROM) worked fine, although BT and Wi-Fi wouldn't work at the same time. I wasn't a big fan of that, and was very quick to update to this ROM when I realized one came out that supported both features at the same time.

Now, when I put my headphones into polling mode and go to connect to them in the BT settings, it says 'Connecting...' or something similar, the light on my headphones (Which flashes red and blue on and off when in polling, then goes to two blue flashes once something connects to it) kind of lags on whichever light it was on, it goes back to flashing, lags again on whichever color it was on, then the 'Connecting...' goes away and it just says "Paired but not connected" again.

Is this on my end or is there an error with this ROM that won't allow me to connect to my headphones? Also, I should mention that I did a full wipe and cleared the cache and dalvik cache all before doing it, after which I promptly flashed the gapps package.

If it helps, I know for sure it is not the headphones.

i flashed to a different version still my data does not work

I pushed up a "Stock" ROM that doesn't have the recovery parts in it. Use that. You can find it on our website. The UNROOT is still there, the Stock just doesn't have the stock recovery

Ok so i did that and i even tried reactivating it and it still doesn't work so i guess i should call VM

That's why I posted the ROM that doesn't touch the recovery. It is ment to use with the stock phone app so you can do the special things that VM will have you do and not touch your recovery, thus allowing you to switch back quickly.

Ok well thanks for all the help

You could try testing it with this version

MTDEV-CM7-20130119.zip

I honestly have not gotten much feedback yet but it uses a different init.triumph.rc and a few different file changes for BT not implemented in the 12-28 build. G60 tested the changes for me one time with the bt & wifi as I do not own a Bluetooth headset but honestly is the only feedback I have received.

I got yo back dawg.

Me too. I will test this later today. My course on C is done all in Microsoft visual studio. I want to learn some GCC and github alongside. Can you guys teach me some of what you know? I think it will be beneficial to me as well. I honestly don't think that everything is done on Windows. Windows may have beat Linux in the PC market, but what about mobile and servers? I don't want to be tied to Microsoft either. I'm no fanboy but I don't want to go the way of the dinosaur as non Microsoft alternatives become more and more popular. Plus with some knowledge I can help MTDEV and free up dsmryder to work on CM9. I can start on CM7 as it should be easy. When I get enough practice, I can also assist on CM9 and CM10. I want to kill two birds with one stone here. My professor has also promised that he can assist me in porting my applications from Windows to Linux as practice. Then I can take on Android with expertise and you guys can breathe a little easier. I don't care that I don't use the Triumph that much anymore. The Nexus 4 has plenty of CM hackers, but MTDEV is shrinking and I would like to eventually take the helm and keep the ship afloat. I really would not want to see the Triumph be abandoned. Motorola has already abandoned us. I refuse to.

Yeah, there's GIT for windows. I can show you tonite.

I have had nothing but problems these past few days (I thought my issues with Titanium Backup were annoying).

A lot of the time I keep seeing I am at 1x instead of 3G. Toggling airplane mode sometimes fixed it, sometimes didn't, and the same for a reboot.

I tried forcing 3G through Settings -> Wireless and Networks -> Mobile Networks -> CDMA Network Preference -> EvDo only. A couple of days ago this used to force 3G on, but now it simply makes the phone act as if I have put it in airplane mode again. All of the signals bars go away, and the small "x" appears above them. I cannot make or receive calls or access anything via the data connection when EvDo is forced on in this way.

I toggled back to CDMA / EvDo and my phone can make and receive calls and texts again, but it's stuck at 1x about 90% of the time now.

At first I thought it might be the ROM (unlikely, since nobody else had reported it, but possible I guess) so I tried flashing the 10-15 CM7, only to experience the exact same issue.

Now I am left thinking it's one of two things:

(1) Either Sprint maintenance on my local tower, or a localised outage.

(2) The radio in my phone is on its way out.

I've been thinking about either an EVO 4G or maybe even a Nexus 4 recently, but was hoping to get a few more months out of my Triumph (it's a few months past the one year warranty). I'm at a loss as to else I can try.

I'm leaning towards the network. It's flakey at best anyway. Do you move between towers? There are apps for that

There are apps to force a particular tower?

There are two near me, one slightly closer than the other (according to Sprint's online maps).

I haven't messed with any myself. I think they only tell you what tower you are on at the time. I hoped someone who knew would comment.
