Anyone having an issue when GPS is turned on, your data goes to 1x even though you're in the middle of a full reception zone? Is it the ROM, or is it just VM throttling my grandfathered plan? Gotta have my 3G to play Ingress.

Did you flash gapps? If you did, did you sign in with your account?

This is a harware problem. We have one antenna for both the GPS and cell radio. I thing the 10-15 files didn't have this issue, but I think that every other set of files did.
Could someone confirm that with me?
Yes, in CWM Recovery v6.0.1.9 by b_randon14! wipe data, cache, dalvik...flash rom, gapps, talk.... reboot
set up wifi, click talk, login google account, sync start....
no market.......
format sd card in a card recard, wipe system data, cache, dalvik...flash rom, gapps, talk.... reboot
set up wifi, click talk, login google account, sync start....
no market.......still...
then I used
MT_CWM_5504_20120527.zip, wipe system data,cache, dalvik...flash rom, gapps, .... reboot
this time I didn't format talk
login screen popped up first thing after the OS loaded... no way to cancel....I had to walk outside to get cell signal... after it started to sync, a window popped up and asked me if I want to cancel because I can only initialize once...I clicked cancel but the initialization was already done....
Why the cancel screen popped up so late.......
I notice that the initialization app look different.. in the first few attempts the initialization screen from talk is the same as android 4.1. So the two gapps packages have different initialization app?
I just tested it on MIUI with a friend's Triumph, and it doesn't cut me off to 1x. Perhaps it's just my phone's antenna. Any external GPS antennae that are compatible with the Triumph?
Get my new triump for Virgin Mo... change the recovery image file, backup the original rom and then wipe all data/cache etc. After that, i flash it to this custom rom and it running fine with all apps installed. Stupid me to overclock it 1800mhz and it freezes. Now, it keeps reboot and reboot to android main screen and it freezes again and rebooting. Can't get in android in stable condition. How can get in overclock screen and change the setting to original? It boot in android main screen and keeps freezing. I don't want to re-flash the rom again since I have 30+ apps installed. If I go in the backup mode and do a backup, will the setting still the same? I need reset to original 1000mhz on cpu to get this phone runing.
So, Ryder, you saying it won't reset the clockspeed with a simple reflash / no wipe?
I had a flashable file that would rest the clock table. I'll have to look for it to post it and that will be around 10pm est.
Until then, run a search for cpu clock reset. I think that might work.
I found it.
I thought that was only reset to default the voltages, if you used incredicontrol to set them in the first place.
S'ok. That's the first thing I thought of too. Started to post a link, and the I thought "uh, wait..."You're right. I need sleep
My gps doesn't lock . is there any remedy, or an app i could install instead of using navigation from google.
I do not have this issue. GPS and 3G coexist happily. I am on a grandfathered plan too.Anyone having an issue when GPS is turned on, your data goes to 1x even though you're in the middle of a full reception zone? I use program called GPS Status. Seems to be a bit faster to lock compared to Google maps.
