Root [ROM] MTDEV-CM9 build 20130120 [BETA]

I cant download from that site using my phone it just wont download and im not buying an app just to download a rom

Ill be changing the download site later today if I have time, if not, tonight for sure :)

Edit: site updated

Not everyone has the luxury of a computer. :) Thanks g60! The site works perfectly on my phone now!

That's why I said better lol, cause its also a known fact that even if the site for the rom is 100% mobile compatible , downloading from the mobile can result in broken or half downloads

I'm pretty certain that was the issue not to long ago with the other sites the devs used

G60 was kind enough to recently change the site again cause really everyone trying to download from a mobile was having issues

But its unfair to expect the devs to create multiple links for different download situations, and it just adds to the work they do and links they have

I updated it again, this time is scans the directory for files and list them, and also spits out the MD5 info. It maybe a little slower opening up the directories due to this but I think it's nice to offer the md5 again!

When i posted i didnt mean to sound rude or incinuate that u should have to make it available to mobile download cus i know u devs do this for free. I apologize and i do apreciate all the work all of u devs do for this lackluster phone if it wasnt for u guys i would have ditched this phone last thanksgiving when i got it. I feel we have the best devs out of any phones u guys are working together and working 24/7 ...... If i wasnt having financial issues and problems with jobs i would most certainly donate to the cause. Just felt i needed to let all u devs know i really apreciate everything u do.

Don't worry didn't get that :-) just glad I got the download site working again for mobile. Doesn't help if you can't download :-)

Where does one contribute? Is there a git report by chance? I'm a fellow developer and love to look at the camera code. Where would I look for it in source to possibly help out?

You bet there is. Check out http://MTDEV.us we have full git repositories and instructions on how to setup your environment and download the code :D. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me or any of the other devs. Our user names are the same from our githubs to android forums.

Also if you download the CM9 branch the camera actually calls correctly to the OS as I fixed the HalWrapper. The problem is kernel at this point and our kernel is located on our CM9 repositories you will need to clone that.

Does this mean that we may be getting close to a working camera?! That'd be so awesome...!

G60 and the MTDEV Team, you guys rock! (even if the camera isn't on the way, you guys still rock!)

I wasn't expecting g60 to do anything. I simply stated it wasn't working. It is "unfair" to point me out as expecting anything when many people pointed out there was a download issue. I come here to learn, not argue.

Now if I can get back on-topic, whenever I use Titanium Backup, the Superuser request literally pops up 17 times before I can restore anything. Anyone else having this issue? And yes, I force stopped Titanium and Superuser and I'm still having this...

Go into Superuser, swipe over to the info tab, and tap "tap to check for updates."

I've had this with SetCPU. Deleting the remembered action from superuser cleared the issue.

I feel we are very close to getting the camera working. Mantera has been very kind and spending his limited time helping me with getting his kernel source to build. Right now the kernel compiles fine but it does not boot. This is using his 2.6.32.59 sources. He also sent me a compiled 2.6.35.14 kernel but that didn't boot. I wish I had an eta on this sort of thing but sadly I don't. Like all things development, its time and patience. Once the camera is working though this will of course open new doors for all of us. Hang in there guys and gals, know we are working it diligently :D

Thanks g60, Mantera, and the rest of the MTDEV Team for all of your hard work on this! You guys are the best!

I've been running CM9 for a week now and loving it. Even without the camera (which I do miss) I don't think I could see me going back to CM7.

I do hope the Devs reconsider including the Apollo Music Player app - it's a terrible music player and it intercepts Bluetooth commands from my stereo headset (used for making calls and listening to music/podcasts) and there is no way to stop it. It's the only thing that is really frustrating me with this build. Please keep only the stock apps in the next build. If users want a music player and one is not included they can just go to the Play Store and download the app they prefer to use.

Anyway, I wanted to express my thanks to all the Devs for continuing to improve the Triumph.

if you really wanna get rid of it, and you have a file explorer that lets you change read/write permissions

you can open the zip from another cm9 rom, maybe mantera's, and pull out the music.apk and put it on ur sd card

then you can use the file explorer to navigate to the System/app folder, change it from read only to read/write and delete the apollo.apk, then move the Music.apk from the sd card into the System/app folder and change it back to read only

reboot phone and it should be all good

if i recall correctly tho the apollo one was chose for a reason, but what that reason was has slipped my mind

Glad its just not me. I removed it in my test builds this weekend. The way its configured in source is it trumps the stock music app. I should get another build out this weekend for cm9 be it with or with out working camera.

@Tokens - cm team added it in for some reason. They like it better or something I guess??

Thanks g60. I was assuming that the reason it was included was because the default Music app is no longer there, presumably replaced by the Play Music app. Maybe I'm wrong about that though. I'm very much looking forward to trying future builds as CM9 is already very solid as it is. I would highly recommend it to anyone who can do without the camera app.

Thanks Tokens, I'll give that a try. I actually don't want to add any other music app as I already have Play Music and MortPlayer Audio Books installed. I just need to get rid of Apollo because it's intercepting the Bluetooth commands from my headset which would normally go to MortPlayer and now I can't FF / Rew / Pause /etc using the headset (listening to Podcasts & Audio Books).

No the stupid thing is the Music app is in the source and has always been there

https://github.com/cyanogenmod/android_packages_apps_Music/tree/ics

Once they added Apollo on line 15 you can see where it trumps the default Music App

https://github.com/CyanogenMod/android_packages_apps_Apollo/blob/ics/Android.mk#L15

Anyways I will ditch the Apollo app as I can't stand it!
