Root [ROM] MTDEV-CM9 build 20130120 [BETA]

Been there & done that ;) this is a fully upgraded system.

I even forced stop, cleared cache/data, uninstalled, reinstalled superuser. same crap, I might try renaming the apk

Doing a google search this problem goes back to about june and most of the people with the problem used titanium backup, I have never installed this app and don't want the headache it creates ;)

I have learned from this site and xda that restoring apps, data, etc using this app will cause blindness, cancer, divorce, etc ... (humour people) :)
 
Just curious do we have an estimate on when the camera will be working? I'm just wondering cause I just flashed the new rom yesterday and flash google now with it, but since it wasn't working I used the google now to stock voice search zip from xda which broken voice search and voice input (button on keyboard for dictation) but I don't want to have to reinstall everything if a can just wait a lit bit for a new build.
 
What happened to being able to change where it says Virgin Mobile on the lock screen and other places to whatever you want it to say. I know on Manteras most recent update of CM9 you could do it in the settings menu with no problem either I'm just not seeing it or it aint in this version of CM9

There is no time frame on the camera right now. We have gotten a little closer with the HAL Wrapper but still no dice on a working camera.

A lot of the code Mantera added into CM9 has been removed. All applications, and settings have been defaulted back to CM9 stable code. Our goal with this project is to keep CM9 as default as possible. Any code changes are simply to allow our phone to work properly with the code i.e. Wifi, 3g, Bluetooth and so on.

I tried this, but superuser couldnt give itself permission to update, what should I try now?
 
I cant say how awesome this rom is. its getting better by the build. games are a little laggy but very much playable.

Whats the big deal with Google now? Not to sound like a dick but my Google search works just fine with CM9.

I was able to install Google Now with no problem. The problem is using the search to voice feature. Which Google Now did you install? Is it full working with voice search? Share the wealth :D
 
I know someone else said something about superuser giving them trouble but my issue is a little different. Thought I would ask and see if anyone had the issue or, even better, came up with a fix!

Superuser prompts every time an app needs root access. Even though I check the box for remember this response. It's getting old real fast!
 
I'm curious about something with Google search, on cm7 I use a modified search bar I got on xda, transparent bar, ics color border, white text and mic icon and I believe the white word Google and the mic are ice color when selected, I was curious if I could get something like that on cm9 or if anyone has created one

The one I have can only go on the gb version of search 3.3 something I think

Have you tried doing what I posted earlier? I had the same issue, and doing this helped.

In case you don't know, the google voice search thing does work, only for typing in what you want to ask it though. It still gives you the same results it would if it was with your voice.. (Like the cards), also it doesn't speak back to you. It is still fun to use and play around with

Sorry to mislead. Im using the google search bar. Its been doing anything I need it too..
 
I really hope the camera is working soon. I had to put cm7 back on mine temporarily. And I already miss cm9. Keep up the good work.

This patch does not work please do not install it our you will need to reload the boot.img on your phone. This patch is for the Huawei, our sister phone. Their kernel is much different than ours, and so is their camera. If you install you will be in a boot loop until you replace the original boot.img or reload the ROM.
