I had to nand back to rls5 while at work. Incoming calls kept locking up the phone. I might try the Caulkins format all zip tonight and try again. Sucks I liked the way I had that set up. Thanks Stevcha for the heads up on the format all, I'm going to use it from now on.

Well, I got it to work by installing it through Rom manager and so far I'm loving it. I have a question though, I had to wipe data for it to install correctly (just doing cache and dalvik wouldn't work) so how do I get my text messages, pictures, bookmarks and other data back? I did a full backup using titanium manager, but is it ok to just restore all user and system data or will that cause problems?

You should be able to restore both but restoring some system data might cause issues

I keep getting stuck in boot loops when I flash the Warm Z Data Governor zip . I am running the 2/27 nightly. my only assumption is I need to be on Warm Z Rls1 and not on the nightlies for the data governor to be compatible. I am doing two dalvik and cache wipes before I flash

that explains what is being changed. basically sprint has a throttle built in to the rom that governs how fast your connection is...this removes it

I flashed this ROM last night. I dont know what happened but my texts stopped working, (while using handcent). I followed along here as well as original post and got to the point where I reverted back to a different ROM, (Fresh 3.5). My data is back working correctly and I'm using to CW 2.6. My question is

1. Do I flash my backup Myn Z I made without wiping data, dalvik, and cache? I just wanna make sure I keep my data this time or is it going to eventually go away anyways?

2. I removed my old PC36.IMG>2.5-3.0 and up CW file off my card to my pc and used the 2.6 CW. Once I flash the 2.6 clockwork file is it ok to rename it or can I keep both the old CW, (that had 2.5 versions and 3.0 and up) on the same card.If so only 1 can be named PC36.IMG so which version do I change and how to get clockwork working again right away since I removed it off card to get the 2.6. if I need it for other android backups?

Btw these issues I'm reading about are crazy..I already lost my 4G when I used a PRL package when using RLS5 now people are losing 3G too...I have to be be more careful indeed

When did you lose your data? Did you try to update your data profile? Since Warm Z is a GSM port we don't have the same ability to update prls or data profiles like we do with Warm 5. What I would do is install Warm Z using a fresh install just to prevent any lingering issues. Flash caulkins format all zip then flash Warm Z again. Your data connection should be OK. Just don't update any prls or try to restore your data profile in the epst.

I lost data today. I was texting. I believe it was a 2-3 long page text. Then It started rejecting sending the text every time I hit resent and I gave up and stumbled upon this post.

The funny thing is I was actually looking to find update for PRL and and profile and couldnt. So I didnt update it via EPST, (whats does that mean). I was actually on the verge of doing some hack to speed the 3G up I seen on a post at XDA. Is that what you meant? Or via ##775#? So basically this ROM shouldnt have any problems basically? I spent all night adding my emails back and apps and then the issue. I have to say this has been the best one I've tried out of all of them

The ##775# code is using the EPST. This rom is pretty fast out of the box so ypu probably won't need to tweak any of that stuff.

I found the rom to be very very picky about flashing...sometimes requiring multiple attempts

I'm not going to turn my back on this one so easily.
I really like the feel of this rom, I'm going to give it a little bit, then try again when I get some free time. Now I'm back to work I've got to have reliability, the bosses don't like to get my VM.
I have about 8 bosses Bob. So when I screw up I have to heart about it 8 times. (I love that movie)

Was getting complaints from ppl I'm texting saying I sent 10-20 duplicates via handcent. I'm pissed because I liked the rom but had to revert back to Fresh.I'm starting to wonder if I downloaded the bad mirror I've read about. I just did it yesterday.Downloaded 2 at same time and 1 was downloading faster so I deleted the slow one and dont know which 1 I have.

On a side note.why would they leave a bad file up for ppl to download anyways? I'll keep an eye on the boards. was good while it lasted

I used warm z for a couple days then ran into the texting problem with handcent too... I decided to go back to warm 2.2

I think im going to check out warm z again in the near future aswell

ok so i fixed getting the dreaded 9016 text message. but now i have a notification for a "new voicemail dial *86". i looked but there is no voice mail. i think it is tied with the 9016 text. but i do not know how to get rid of the notification.

How did you fix it? I called my phone to test it and I still get the text message, and even worse, my phone starts playing some random ass song and it doesn't stop until I touch the notification bar.

I also can't figure out how to change the voicemail notification sound in this rom.

Also, how do I increase the volume for onscreen selections? I've gone to the volume settings and basically maxed out all the bars and the click sound when I touch the screen is still barely audible compared to the stock rom.

i had a few odd ... situations come up for no reason.
i noticed it rebooted by itself...it was just sitting on my desk, asleep.. then i see warm's bootup screen flash on.

a few very bad lags.. then back to fast... here and there...(this could be that I have too many apps loaded; only 90mb left free for loading apps)

I also want 4G as an option. I dont normally use 4G.. maybe 1 time a week. but I like to have the option if I want it.
so i started looking at other ROMs..
but I could not find what I wanted: New Sense ROM...with 4G.

I guess I will stick with Warm Z and hope Myn gets something out soon.
I wipped everything 3 times.. and reloaded Warm Z and hope it is more stable.

I've experienced the same problem with Hancent. Maybe 1 out of 5 texts randomly decides not to send. If I open up stock messaging and resend, it works fine. Odd.

People won't even open. Anytime I access People or favorites/etc, it FC's. Also, I'm gettings TONS of force close's with Mail and Handcent.

Biggest issue right now.. the dial pad does not work during a phone call! I tried calling my car insurance company last night which doesn't allow voice to say numbers, so I had to use the keypad and it just plain didn't work at all. Is there an easy fix for this I'm not aware of?

Otherwise, Warm Z is great.

I actually went thru the trouble of reverting CW back to 2.6, flashing a different rom last night, (since someone recommended not using mirror 1 download thread), and I decided I'd use Myn Z with just Handcent alone. I wanted to see if it was the application not compatible or the rom. Yesterday I ran into my issue soon as I did over 160 text.Kept getting errors and then I found out for all the resends I did that showed not going thru ppl were receiving up to 20 texts.

So when I loaded the rom again this morning. I kept sending texts to and from my google voice to myself and vice versa to prevent duplicates going to other ppl in case it happened again. Everything worked fine. I was doing 2-3 pages of texts and it they were all received. I noticed theres a good lag between time received between texts on handcent so decided to try chomp instead. I sent the 1st text over 160 characters and the trouble started again.Kept receiving error even when I deleted the text instead of resending and kept getting failure error. Almost seems that the text gets stuck and ruins the connection because right after the text ismy 3g started timing out, freezing and became super slow. I may give it another shot later and try not switching text apps..

As for your issue with the dialing pad and sounds not going thru for automated lines. I had that same issue. press menu>settings>sound>under feedback you'll see "audible tones".change that to "off" or "long". Short tones dont work on this rom. I read this somewhere in that thousand page thread at xda and it worked. I hope he fixes the text issue. This rom is the sh!@

In rom manager there should be an option to flash RA Recovery towards the bottom. Select that option and let the phone do its thing. Then at the top it should show RA Recovery as your current Recovery. Then boot into recovery and try flashing again.

I got the same aborted message, but im not using rom manager.... i thoughy ou had an aversion to rom manager come to think of it, or perhaps its was another senior member who advised against using it as its kinda buggy. I just did the wipe sd card thing and install zip file process, but i still got that message, any idears? cuz i gots ABSOLUTELY no idear what i did wrong soopah sad face i like the standard rom, but it just chews up SOOOOOOO much of the system resources.. GRR any tips i could try to get myn z workin? and the front facing cam doesnt work?!? sorry this is so wordy and off the wall, i just chugged a monster energy drink LMAO!

what are these nightly things? are the roms literally updated nightly? pardon the noob question, but im just trying to get a grasp on all this nomenclature. Thanks in advance for any insight

I think it might have been someone else. I usually use ROM Manager to flash between the different recoveries. But I use the actual recovery to flash the rom. I don't use ROM Manager to flash roms. There's a fix for the front facing camera. Search this thread for caulkina from facing camera fix.

For those having issues with Handcent have your tried another SMS app? I use GoSMS with WarmZ without any issues.


For those receiving the 9016 text messages and using Spring Voice Mail App you need to receive those texts in order to get notified of new VM. If you block the texts you will not receive new VM notifications. You can use Red List, Super Conversation, or other SMS apps to filter the 9016 text and not notify you of the new message. That way you'll still see the new VM notification.

To anyone whos having problems sending texts, this rom cant send texts over 160 chars without splitting. So go into the send options and select split at the word and now texts that are more than 1 page, will send. Or atleast that worked for me.
