Root [ROM] Nov-13 MeanROM ICS v6.3 | 2.13.651.1 | Mods | Batt saver | OC 1.7 Ghz

As soon as someone posts the update for devs to get started on it'll come along very quickly.

Chances are there will be a lot changed so I imagine you'll need a full wipe. Such is the life of a rooted user. Just make sure to back everything up and the switchover is painless.

How far along will Titanium Backup restore your exacts settings (folders, layout, apps, data etc..) after doing a full wipe? also do you need the Pro version?

Thanks

It saves my Nova Launcher settings. Including screen icons and widget locations. I was so happily surprised by that.

Yes, you are correect, that data is considered app data:D

It will go with GO and the other launchers other than stock as well. I forgot to mention that

Hoping to see the official updates mixed in with a future update, think I'll do a fresh install just to make sure everything is everything. Still wondering why the battery life seems off from .9.

From the DEV:
I hope to get an update out by Friday on the new base but the timing couldn't have been worse. My "other" job monopolized my day other than coming here to check in a few times. Discussions with third party code providers (for my Windows stuff), then quarterly tax returns due to the accountant, then admin meetings all afternoon. Even had to hand deliver a paycheck to one of our employees today (don't ask). So not a good day, which is why I'm so grateful to the front end guys who take these OTA's, put them together, deodex them, and test them out. By the time I'm actually ready to work on this (hopefully tomorrow morning), they've done a great job by providing a solid foundation. That's what I love about Android. We all do what we do best and the power is in the shared knowledge and resources. That's also why whenever someone asks for some of the work I've done like the Mail.apk sync while roaming stuff, the 12am - 7am data disconnect fix, wrong time on MMS when roaming, etc. my answer is: don't ask. Just take it and credit me. That's the way open source should be and what gives Android so much power out of the other (iCough) stuff out there. ;)

Oh. And a big thanks to the mods for keeping the threads clean!

Mike

if you allow google to sync your device, it saves your rosie settings and reinstalls all the apps you had installed the last time it synced. the apps take awhile to sync because it redownloads them from the market, but just the fact that I don't have to re-setup my rosie makes it totally worth any possible battery drain, imo

I think it only works if you sign into your google account during the initial setup process

I'd like to see a version that has the new ota and the extended quicksettings but not the overclocking or multi tasking. My battery behavior changed with those and I didn't really see any benefit for me.

THe ROM keeps track of battery stats for you. If you notice your not getting as good of battery as you should be upload the file and the dev will analyze it for you

Hmm, seems the issue with the odd battery drain is gone. Fresh wipe and install of 1.3, battery has stayed for sometime while screen is off. Still wondering what the problem was.

The new firmware is up on the OP at XDA, as well. Used the PJ75IMG method as my phone is S-OFF.

The DL seems to be from CaptainThrowback. It is refreshing to see the progress in the zip in the bootloader as he shows the steps to be extracting and applied ok.

It happens pretty quick! It is nice to know the process is done, too, have flashed radios before and thought it was still working when it was in fact done, and caused a lot of stress!

Updated my PRL and Profile and rebooted my phone and did a speed test, just for grins. Got 1.3 Meg down. Not too shabby!

Downloading the 1.4 version as I type this. Tried the new TWRP 2.2 recovery as well, it appears to have worked flawlessly. See how well it wipes and flashes here in a bit!

Man, we have been gifted with some really talented and helpful people to help us with this phone, it is amazing!

Edit: I stacked a couple of superwipes and then flashed the rom. bad boy took a while to boot up. Not really used to that anymore. I have only been flashing updates here lately though, so maybe that is what has spoiled me. Besides for the fact the phone is so fast, as well.
Now to see what we shall see! :)

Do I need S-off to update to 1.4? I used the old rooting method and not the lazy Panda. Whatever the one before that was that you downloaded and ran on your PC.

You can flash 1.4 in recovery. Be sure to Nand and do a full wipe first.

The OP over at XDA has the radios and stuff too and tells you the proper way to install them for your root situation.

What are the benefits of going to s-off before doing it, and how would I go about this?

Seem to be getting much better battery life with the radio update. Could it be that sprint service issues are what's giving us the grief? Would be nice to find out it isn't the phone itself.

To have complete control over everything, yes. It's not needed for basic root functions though

im staying S-ON for now. BAcked up, wiped, flashed radios, flashed ROM..booted...it has been at the HTC screen now for 3 minutes...should I let it ride?

This is weird..the red writing is gone..not sure if that is the ROM..i downloaded the radios that were meant for S-ON...its still frozen on the HTC screen.
