what do you mean? what are you trying to move? lol if you want to flash a rom it's pretty easy, but it's also easy to mess your phone up so just make sure your a good reader :D are you already rooted and have CWM installed? if you have no clue what im reffering to than your answer is no LOL
 
quick update for those of you who are awake :D i finally finished the contacts :D all fixed!!!! so now i been gone a while and kinda forget what else is broken haha so what else do i need to add? o and where is that launcher list...? :D

Thanks for the fast answer man yeah im rooted and have ROM manager have backed up current stock zvd ROM to sd card and wantef tk try your #2 ROM as my first flashing im just really.new at this and dont understand all the language yet like whst i been readying i kinda wsnt to get my feet wet.see.where this will take.me so im asking i guess forthe link to your most updated.realease of the#2.ROM do i can check it out and.i guess start getting the hang.of what this is all about can you help??Thanks

I had problems with that kernel too. I don't know why so many people seem to like it; it doesn't work for me. Just get the new number two. You'll be in good clock cycles.

Yes, they are, but not if you do what everyone else is doing. Uninstall "No Frills CPU" and install "No Frills CPU CLASSIC" from the market. Go into settings and do what Idrifta said to do in the original post. Once you have that checked, it should work. I keep a widget on my desktop for no frills classic.

Now, when I boot, it's on demand at first. But, after No Frills Classic starts up, it goes to the "smoothass" governor and stays there. Just do what I did and you'll be fine. I posted about it a while back in this thread...

well you didn't confirm having CWM on there... rom manager is from clockwork, but it's not the actual recovery.. make sure you have a custom, boot-able recovery and make your backup that way!!! having rom manager backup doesn't help if the rom dont boot right..? lol than after you make THAT backup via recovery you can feel free to flash all the ESTEEM specific flashies you find here on AF, cant garuntee anything you get from anywhere else... so be cautious

Wow i thought i was begining to kinda understand what i was doing but seems like im stuck on basic steps still is there a forum in here to help me with making that recovery here on this forums i bet there is right sorry im so new at this you probably think im stupid but im really trying to learn this stuff Go Android!!! And Thanks sorry for waisting your time.......

dude.... lol dont worry no one thinks your stupid, matter of fact i think your smart for actually being concerned and not just jumping into things lol

it's very easy, if you can connect to wi-fi i suggest it...

open that 'rom manager' app you mentioned earlier and like the very first thing it says is you need clockworkmod-recovery installed to do anything blah blah blah.. so now that i think of it.. lol you probly DO have it installed since you made a backup with the app.... but for safety reasons i want to to just let the app install recovery again...

once that is finished, make sure you dl'd the rom and placed it on your devices storage (internal or external if you have one)

now to boot into recovery is kinda tricky lol, power device off...

now press and hold volume up & down, (continue holding them)

now press and hold power untill device vibrates then release power button only (keep holding volume buttons)

now wait till a screen pops up and asks about formatting your device.. now you can release all buttons lol

press power twice in a slow pace to enter the custom recovery mode, i PROMISE it will not factory wipe your device as long as you DO have the CWM installed

now from here you will see some options that are reallyyyyy self explanatory lol, basically go to backups menu and make a backup, it'll take a while.. then go to flash zip from sd, find the rom .zip and flash awayy!!! :D

Gotts to learn to crawl b4 u walk right?? I appreciate the help guy u are awesome i like to thank u and yes i found the newbies Bible here undet all thigs rooted that help me figure out what you was talking about i went into recovery mode and backed up it did take a few mins but it said back up complete i guess that is saved into my internal sd right?? Ok now so can i download the #2 ROM and save it to my external.sd card and flash it thru cwm?:rolleyes:

Thanks. I switched to the Classic version & everything is sticking. Driftizzle if you read this, change the OP to read the No Frills Classic. That works the best.

I like how you can see more contacts on the screen with the new version of number 2. I didn't flash this new apk as I'm not having issues, but I the changes in the menus. It felt like when you'd play quake on 640x480 before you would adjust the resolution to the highest your monitor could handle, you know? Only, I couldn't adjust the resolution lol. Thanx.

Good news guy I'm currently running #2Rom on my esteem WowI did it!! :) Thanks Idrifta for all your help guy. I was wondering about some questions i had by any chace could i pm you so you can helpen lighten me some more if its possible. on your spare time. any chance you get just like now that I'm on #2 flashing themes and stuff like that how to's ....

Aight thanks man, I'm loving this Rom <3 :) specially the way the screen shuts off crazy cool but i wish i had the swype on the key pad I'm sure theres a way to put it that's where i need the help but I'm not sure how to add you as a friend or pm you on here could you request me?? Or i can message you my email whatever works better for you Thanks a lot guy.
