Root [ROM] Number Two (#2) v3.0.1 {ZVE}

Anyone still have 2.5.1 wanting to go back to longer life and that version i don't have anymore only 1 i don't have

Guys, I have a major problem right now. If I drive 40 miles away from home I loose the network completely, this has never happened before, and the network comes back when I return home from work.

v2.5.3 only had minor problems for me (lost *228, and minor stuff)

v2.5.4 seems to be faster, and *228 is fixed, but the battery drains way too quickly (even with an extended battery), and I loose network going away from home. I tried updating PRL successfully, but didn't help.

Not complaining here, but has anyone lost network like this? (Florida, West Palm Beach City)

Will flash previous versions and report.

This happens to me frequently .. even before I Rooted lol but it would just reboot or turn off back then.

I can't even begin to explain this crap.

Hey Martin714,

I have the same problem, I was getting 20+ hrs on 2.5.1 and decided to update since I was getting far behind(at least felt like it). Then I noticed my battery drain 3 times as fast. I went back to 2.5.1 but something happened and it seems laggier after.
So I reflashed the speed kernel and it seems to be back to normal. Ill have to test it for a day or so to really find out. I'm not sure what the changes were but there's definitely something draining battery. I'll go back to this newer rom once that gets sorted out since I liked it a lot, felt real smooth and snappy. Also you have to do the bluetooth fix if you want to use it.
not many changes or additions since 2.5.1, mainly fixes for theme etc.. so im thinking just the system need to settle itself in, manually wiping cache etc sometimes helps.. trust me im constantly re-flashing the rom with the same minor changes daily and it runs good for me

ldrifta,

Thanks for the quick reply. I liked all the updates and how it ran really smooth, the only thing was the battery life. I tend to stick with what makes my battery last rather than speed, just my preference, I wish I could have both..lol but I know there's always a trade off. The way you had it running on 2.5.1 was perfect for me. I have got over 26hrs on a single charge with stock battery which is f****g amazing and something I always brag about to my friends when I see their phones die in 3-4hrs.
?s of the speed kernel, which do you recommend for longest battery life?

Thanks for all your hard work, it is much appreciated.

well stock speed seems to have the best battery results.. and its what i use ;)

thanks

Well LD you were right it had to be the app updates since 2.5.1 because I flashed 2.5.1 and I used to leave phone on idle for 5 hours and lose 20% now its 40% I'm losing in those 5 hours well I had to check and see if battery was still going to last a long time again. No dice so 2.5.4 here I come.......again

haha i just remembered something... dont hate me guys :D i changed the heapsize from 48 to 64.. not sure if it is whats causing issues for any of you but you can try change it back to 48 or whatever you want see if it helps any... i changed it hoping it would help out with dual lockscreen delays but no dice :/

Is anyone else having issues with their text messages disappearing? I am. I don't know what is causing them to go away but when I go to my messages they are all gone. Any suggestions? This only started happening when I went to 2.5.3 and .4. Clean install on both.

Haha I just changed this... Stuff was lagging... I changed it to 96 and I'm back to normal :D

I still haven't gotten any fix on watching videos on youtube or taking vids... the problem is lowly getting irritating. The status bar just keeps coming up and stopping any video related thing that im in on.
