Root [ROM] Number Two (#2) v3.0.1 {ZVE}

i know you guys might think im an idiot but i flashed this rom on my lg connect and now it wont turn on

This rom wasn't made for the connect. It has a different kernel that was made for the esteem. I'm not sure if its bricked or not. But does it turn on when its charging?

SMH. Wow.

What would even posses you to do such a thing?

If you have recovery, just pray you can boot into it and flash a back up. If you dont have recovery, then just go ahead and head to metro store. Just when you think you've seen it all.

Yea like Fuzzy said just go ahead and head to the nearest Metropcs location and tell them you had to turn your phone off for a while and when you went to turn it back on nothing happens.

Not to be a jerk and rub salt in the wound but just let it be a hard lesson learned. Never ever ever ever ever ever flash a ROM or kernel or recovery that's not made specifically for your make and model or you will brick.

(Unless you have a Huawei Ascend. that damn little phone is unbrickable. I flashed Samsung, LG, HTC , Motorola, and ZTE roms on that phone trying to purposely brick it and that little bastard powered up and rebooted back into cwr up every damn time. :D Biggest slowest POS phone but I love that little warrior. I still have mine because I just can't part ways with that SOB :D)

Man I miss my ascend. That sucker was unbreakable. It was my gateway phone into modding. I loved it.

Read My "Devices" <<<<<<< Lol Not that unbreakable physically. :P

Still running T1 and I like it. No problems after I edited the build.prop with what mario posted. :D

Dude mine too lol. I bought mine off this old woman that said it was too complicated for $100 lol. The weird thing is that now she had the Samsung galaxy s2 and loves it lmao

I tried adding apps that were removed from the ROM and for some reason they always crash :-( Btw T1 kills my extended battery. Within one hour I was down to 88% (Without using my phone..) Plus its a new battery

Test3 - the prodigy lol
(changed dalvik.vm.dexopt-flags=[v=n,o=a,u=y,m=y] to [v=a,o=v,u=y,m=y])

[verify=all, optimize=verified, uniproccessor=yes, map ing=yes] These are the new settings and yes you can download power amp from market

im pretty sure test3 will be the winner, but im awaiting feedback :D

this is an updated test2, for an updated test1 just remove these two files from test3 lol

sysctl.conf from system/etc
10sysctl from system/etc/init.d

Ok this little things confused me so t3 I will download and install I have been doing full wipes but that's just me with those 2 things that ldrifta mention that is if I just wanted to simply update without wiping correct

Does T3 include the sysctl tweaks as well? I've been running test 2 for a day and Im at 60 percent, Im using a fairly taxing launcher as well (spb shell, It looks awesome!)

Nevermind! Read up a few posts! Gbiggie, feel free with the wet noodle! XD

You dont have to do a full wipe anytime you are installing the SAME rom. It's just a different version. If it was a different ROM then you would have to wipe.

I know fuzzy but what I got confused on was the fact that on the instructions he talks about some values but for me I just download and install the update without worrying about those values

yes!! ^^ and if you read the VERY FIRST line of OP it says

"my roms will format your system & cache partitions prior to installation, so tequnically you dont have to ever wipe anything if you religously use my rom lol unless i say otherwise, for like a huuuge update just incase..

but if you have changed something or messed with any internal settings in a way that resulted badly, then you MUST wipe data to restore to stock/default rom settings :D

think of doing a data wipe as the 'root users factory reset' lol (if not flashing a new rom)
