Root [ROM] OMGB v7 1/20/2011 Gingerbread 2.3

You can tell ext controls to go to the gps/location menu when toggling rather than just toggling the gps. Well you can with switchpro so I assume you can with ext control. This is one extra step, but like you said no biggie in the grand scheme of things.

I use old market I like it better. Since this ROM is so fresh off the grill I'm limiting how many things I mod to it to reduce possible issues and I've been successful so far...this ROM is as stable as CM 6.1 stable which blows my mind. So my fix to you is use the old market if you can

+1

I am sticking with the bare essentials for now and will add the "fluff" later. I cannot get over how much more responsive this ROM is than anything I have ever used!

Reflashed rom without flashing the market, still getting the same bug. Disappointed, really wanted to start using this as my everyday ROM.

I've been using the new market with zero issues so far (it's starting to grow on me)

just realized angry birds is one of the apps that won't work, but I think I like the rom more than angry birds.

Ps: battery life is incredible for me too
Edit again: found a nice trick: if you long press on the app drawer icon it brings up a preview of all your home screens.

Dang I was hoping that was the culprit. The only other thing I can think of if you haven't tried it already is to fully wipe and re-flash. I know it's a pain.

Is there anything else you have modded or could it be possible your doing a Titanium restore of something that is glitching it up?

Ehhh, I'm not going to worry about it to much. There will be more gingerbread roms in the near future. I'll just wait. Virtuous 3.2 is running nice for me at the moment.

No prob just throwing out all the possibilities I thought it could have been ;)

Anyone else having issues finding/installing certain apps? After flashing I couldn't restore The Weather Channel or Flixster Movies. I couldn't find either app in the market either. Also camera flash seems to work at random. I've tried it on AUTO and ON and it works sometimes; other times not so much. The ROM is getting better and better though. Almost ready for prime time! Back to Cyanogen until then.

Yes, the apps thing I posted about above, it's because the apps aren't compatible with gingerbread, it's up to the APP developers to fix that. And the flash thing is a known bug.

Having Bluetooth issues with connecting (after being paired) and A2DP bluetooth music streaming. Otherwise, loving this.

Well, I love sense, but I just installed this, and it's wayyyyy too fast not to love it. I thought I didn't have lag before, but now after using this ROM, anything else will feel way too slow.

Agreed. Anyone ever upgraded their HD in their PC to a SSD? Kinda like that :D

Rats, I finally have my setup just the way I want it. Redemption 2.3, kernel stable, Swype, folders, ADW EX... everything. Now I get an itch to flash something new and this is it. What to do? Is it really that great to spend another hour tweaking, restoring, etc?

Will ADW work well with this? How about Swype?

ADW will work fine with it, I'm using swype, and actually haven't had the input method switch probablem once on this ROM. As long as you have Titanium Backup, I say do it! If you have your current one backed up, you can easily switch without restoring anything, so give it test.

Yeah I'm using ADW-Ex it's great. I haven't tried swype with this ROM, but I know others have with success. Make your backup of your now stable setup and just test omgb6 out. Before spending a ton of time restoring everything just perfect, play with it with just your basic essential apps to see how you like it.

Thanks guys. Will do. I have it d/l already with a full backup from yesterday. I'll probably do another backup and then flash it.

Flashed it, it looked good. But I must have restored an app that was incompatible because all of a sudden I was getting FCs every second or two. Had to go back to RR for now. But next time I'll do installs via appbrain and play around. BTW, Swype didn't work for me, said something about wrong device. Location was ok but some other weirdness with my Touchdown email syncing. No FB contacts sync for me either, but I could probably tweak it so it would work.

Weekend project for sure.

This rom is amazing now, location works (except for weather), nav works, and it is as fast as any rom i've tried. I couldn't be more pleased with all of the fixes.
