Root [ROM][PORT][FINAL] MIUI 1.11.25-Triumph | 113011-2 (GB 2.3.7 based)

This is a Public Service Announcement.

It's for all participants in this great thread, but a few here should know that they have brought this about with disrespectful/rude posts targeting other members. ;)

Please don't do that, to put it simply. No matter how angry or upset we get about things going on with our devices and the software we put into those devices, the forums must remain a peaceful, informative place.

Two HUGE points, friends:

1. Any ROM or other software an AF member flashes and/or installs into their device is done at their own risk.

2. Any issues encountered having to do with a member's device or the software therein can be discussed in the forums, but not the developer himself or herself or any other member. Talk about the issues, not about other members, please. Got personal problems as a result of anger at somebody? Calm down, then PM that member to open a constructive dialog with him or her, don't take it up in the forums. Is it a problem which needs the attention of Staff? Use the
report.gif
button.

And now back to your regular programing. :)

I don't mean to trouble you, I appreciate all your hard work :D
But, I find that your version of clockwork is not working on my triumph. If I try to do a Nandroid backup or even a factory reset, my phone just stays still on a picture of the hat with the arrow under it. I can't do anything with your version of clockwork, however, I have been running Cyanogenmod 7 for 2 months now and thank you for that. Issac, if you can respond as soon as possible, that would be greatly appreciated. :)

The vol up/down scrolls on the menu. The soft buttons (home, menu, back etc) do the selecting and backing up instead of the usual power button. Hitting the power button while trying to select a choice only results in toggling to and from that hat and arrow screen. More specifics about the controls in these CWMs are written in the thread with the newer versions. Hope that helps.

Awesome! Thanks once again for your work on this! My battery is dying quickly because I can't stop playing with my phone, haha. I love trying the different themes, there are some really amazing ones  . I'm realy looking forward to having the smartass governor on this build because it really seemed to improve battery life with the CM7 Rom.

I haven't had a single problem with this rom since I turned of wifi. It's been running amazingly on this phone.

I know your not looking for bugs but I have only experienced one. After applying the Wifi fix you posted, I had the phone reset on me twice when trying to turn the screen on. I would press the power button and the screen would stay black, after a few seconds the phone would reboot. I haven't seen this issue in this thread or in the CM7 thread so it could just be specific to my phone...

Wifi isn't a big deal to me so I just keep it turned off.

Yeah, WIFI is picky. We either have 2 options:

1) Have wifi without the fix to enable it to sleep and get locks.

or

2) Have wifi with the fix and get the occasional reset when powering on the screen.

I'm not sure if Tickerguy fixed this for good over on the CM7 ROM, but it's hard to grab the real error.

EDIT:

Here are the things coming the next build:

1) Ambient light sensors are mostly fixed. They register and now do something, but the values may need tweaking.
2) I'm using a new MIUI Camera app (still the stock one), but it takes correct FFC snapshots. I've also moved away from using the Cherry libs and I'm now using TG's camera libs. This fixes FFC orientation, when the phone is held upright, during video calls, but now breaks the orientation during landscape mode (only in FFC). This, I believe is a step in the right direction.
3) WIFI "fix"
4) Smartassv2 governor in the kernel

Happy MIUI-ing everyone.

@isaac why is it that I haven't experienced the Wi-Fi issue? Or is it just a matter of time?

That's a good question. I think it actually have something to do with which network the WIFI is connected to. Maybe something in wpa_supplicant or libhardware.... I notice only get it on certain networks (like my school's).

Ya I noticed I was having wpa_supplicant issues on my home airport extreme in my adb logcat

Lol i hope soon because i tried it out and i really like it, its just the wifi lockup and and also sometimes the 3g connection, also when im on the fone the home menu etc just flash on and off , hopefully the mms get fix also

That's what connection checker in the Android market is for. To help 3g anyways...

Ah, but I said (quasi) insulting. ;)

Truthfully, there isn't anything wrong with the stock ROM. If there was, Moto (or whoever) would have everyone up their ass right now. They paid a lot of people to make sure everything was working. We indie devs are few (per each Android device) and we try our best to recapture the same usability found in the stock ROM, but give you guys something new to play with. So, yes, to a person who would like everything working, this wouldn't be an upgrade. Some things are downright frustrating to end-users and devs alike.

If the source were available for MIUI, things would be different. Just look at all the progress that has been made with CM7! Admittedly, it will be impossible to fix some things in MIUI. If, however, the real MIUI devs pass out a fix, then we'll get that too. We're basically at their mercy unless they decide to give back.

Thanks you Issac - I appreciate your time to respond.

I appreciate your description of whats going on and now that I have researched MIUI it looks very cool and something totally different to the stock rom.

Keep up the great work! ;)

Once the next build is released, I am definitely switching MIUI. I think I like the looks of this even more than cm7.

This rom was working fine for me until about an hour ago. Now every time the phone goes to sleep it locks up and I have to pull the battery. I tried the wifi fixer and sleep policy changes to see if that might fix it, no luck though. I didn't install anything recently so i'm at a loss.. Any suggestions?

Went through and manually changed my wifi policy in ES File Explorer and it has stopped. I'll update if it happens again. BTW this rom kicks ass, thanks isaac!

I found where this is broken, but I don't think I can fix this (not without the MIUI source). I tried to make the changes, but it breaks radio. :(

It would seem SMS is handled differently in MIUI compared to CM7.

So are you saying there maybe no chance of getting mms working?

My buddy just had a baby so I'm getting a ton of 99999999 texts now...lol

Do you keep getting reboots? I cant even go to my homescreen it stops at the lockscreen then reboots.

Unzip the flash-able MIUI rom
Explore the innards of what you unzipped- go to /system/etc/firmware/wlan/qcom_cfg.ini
Open it up with wordpad or your favorite text editing application
On line 18, change gEnableSuspend=3 to gEnableSuspend=2
Rezip up META-INF, system, and boot.img so that they are at the root of your zip (you don't want an extra folder at the root)
Backup, format system, wipe cache and flash the new .zip

Edit: Here to save you all the trouble, I uploaded a fixed rom: miuiandroid_Triumph-1.9.30-10032011-2.zip

I did flashed that MIUI then restored using the back up app and now everything is fine. I restored everthing expect system settings, wifi setting, and contacts.

Okay, I know how to use Clockworkmod Recovery, but Issac's version literally freezes up on me. I know I can not install MIUI with the current version I am using, but when I upgrade to Issac's version, whatever selection I press will literally freeze up on me. :(

I have not yet found a fix because my experience with coding is zip and nada. Here, I'll get a screenshot...

Sorry about the HORRIBLE picture quality, but this screenshot shows that when I select whatever I want on Issac's version of CWM, it literally stays at the above screen.

I need some help please. I know I have seen it before on the forums but can't find it to save myself. When I push the volume down and power button on the wife's phone, she wants MIUI also, I get the triangle with the exclamation point and the android. What have I got to do??? Hers is the Triumph as well as mine and I didn't have any trouble doing it on mine.
