Its not the rom itself its the touchscreen, some roms have updated touch screen drivers I believe or have been some what optimized like cm7 reloaded. Its basicly something we all have, I use swype beta keyboard. Cause I think it helps not having yo press every key, cuts down on the miss taps/haps of the normal keyboards

dose any one know why the keyboard is the same as stock but the buttons look different i.e much smaller and round not square ???? thank in advance...

besides functionality, I can tell you that MIUI keyboard is dictated by images in framework-res, much different looking than the stock froyo 2.2/Cm7/etc. They can be themed/altered on 1.11.25, though in the hundreds of themes I've applied, I've not once encountered a theme for MIUI GB that themed other than the keyboard press color (I don't recall any alteration of shape/look).

edit - there are plenty of alt. keyboard apps on the market, some free or with trials, if you want to try themed keyboards, or even keypads of different shapes/colors/layouts :)

Hopefully if that's the case we could get a more current build

I wish I knew more about Android development and what the source code release means for us running the MT. You would think it would now be much easier to port over the very latest GB based MIUI which would have bug fixes, *and* provide a way forward for all the hardware on the phone to work. I know a lot of hard work is going on wrt ICS, but surely someone will pick up the source code and release a new MIUI for the MT? In terms of scale wasn't what Isaac did without the source code an order of magnitude more difficult? I am just guessing and would like to know. Thanks.

It depends.
Last I looked the source wasn't all released yet though.

I also remember reading in previous versions how Isaac had custom fixed a lot of issues for us specifically for each build of MIUI; I believe he stated that a lot of MIUI code was superfluous, etc.

Part of that might have been because it was ported from another device. It might be cleaner/easier once the full source is released.

I am just hypothesizing here.

would there be any way to port the rotation animations from cm7 into this rom? maybe by way of a flashable .zip??

just hoping someone knows more than i do. all thats on miui mods forums is window transition animations.

surely if cm7 has it built in now it must be in a form that cant be *too* difficult to pick out right? of course thats just speculation. all im going on is that rotation animations couldnt be picked out of Froyo HTC Sense roms becuase of how it was tied into the sense framework. im only assuming cm7 does it in a way that doesnt require so much specialized stuff becuase cm7 is for the most part stock gingerbread

I'm browsing on my phone at work right now, and I saw talk on the last page or two about SMS not splitting and then won't send. I'm having the same problem...

is this something ill just have to watch out for or is there an actual fix? I just switched back to miui because MMS wouldn't work on two versions of CM7 I tried, but it is now working .. just not when sending an SMS over the limit and not splitting.

You have to use go SMS of another messaging app. Miui SMS does not support split in this version.

Ah alright thanks. I'm afraid to recover goSMS with titanium backup in fear of corrupting my MMS since I've been having problems with that, so I'll just watch my count and send separate messages for now.

Also I have another problem. Miui reads my mp3 ring/notification tones, but it wont use them. I'll set my notification tone to a stock tone, then set it to my custom tone and it will play the stock tone I chose before it.

Any idea why it's doing this?

edit:
never mind, I believe I had to do it via the theme editing, not the Sounds menu.
