Yes I will be updating the MOD section (post 2) with new build.props, I edited the build.prop, since I put that one up. You can always just look at the thunder prop and edit yours if you don't want to wait. Or try the thunder prop in the second post. Gotta get up at 5:30AM so I'm bout to get to bed soon.

I installed Mobs 4,5 and 6 and thunderprop, overkill maybe but I have never had so many programs available in play (market).

I am loving this ROM, I did the dirty install but yet to test the voicemail or mms. I stripped the system apps to minimum and am adding aftermarket replacements via link2sd for kicks.

I don't know if overclocking is a big need for me, the only option I could not get working was the recovery mod in powerdown menu.
 
This rom is fast and the gps locks much quicker usually but the battery life is much worse than other roms. I am running mobster's version. Is version 4 better on battery? are others experiencing the same thing?
 
versioin 4 has working send and recieve MMS. mobster's version doesn't have working receiving MMS. it is not something that you can just instal an apk over to get it to work.

I would be careful with "Triumph" MODs and tweaks as most of the MODs have something to do with something in the framework and the framework files are very different with this ROM. The build prop is what is allowing you to see more apps in google play, it tricks play into thinking you have a different phone. Basically the only thing you are getting from the tweaks package, that is not basically built in to this ROM, is Sony Xloud Engine, Sony Bravia Engine and disabled start up animation, from what I can see. We really can't say what the other tweaks will do on this ROM until more time passes. You have to remember that virgin mobiles devs seem to cripple anything they touch. I never knew froyo could be this good, coming from the intercept.

I think that may have to do with the kernel, but you will have to ask him, he released a new kernel. Because all of my releases are really good on battery. You may want to check if it's an app causing the battery drain. That is also why I don't really use too many tweaks cause there always seems to be a draw back in some way or another.

He already PMed me, but I built Ver4 from Ver3, and never noticed that they won't get through first boot on their own, so I have to go back through and see what all I did, to figure out if I will be able to get it worked out. So unless he can figure it out, before I do, it might be a few days til I get some time to look at it. I'm working 10 hour days with over an hour drive both ways so, it's a lil hard right now to find free time.

To be safe I recommend Ver2 then Ver4 cause most people will be coming from other ROMs. If you have basically any of the deodexed versions of the Sharp ROM, including Mobstergunz revisions as some people have reported, it can be flashed over with Ver4. The issue is that I didn't test a fresh install when I released Ver3 and then built Ver4 off of it. If you try to install Ver4, as I removed the link for Ver3, it will just bootloop. So, that is why Ver4 has to be flashed over one of the already booted deodexed versions. hope this helps.

EDIT: The battery, for me at least has been leaps and bounds better than most of the Triumph ROMs available.

EDIT 2: If you are on Stock Triumph, then you can just factory reset and boot it then flash, without wiping anything, Ver2 then Ver4 to fix the voicemail dialing *86 by default. I call it the "dirty install", it's just something I came across when I was testing a bunch of stuff. It doesn't seem to have any ill effects as far as I can see.

Thanks for the quick response. I will flash v2 then flash v4. To use the custom carrier mod do I have to just add it to my SD then flash it on and reboot like I would with a ROM.

I have to update the MODs because I changed the apn file and am not sure if the apns are correct in the MODs. I also changed the build.prop so I will be updating that as well. But yes you can just flash and reboot anything in the MOD section.

EDIT: If you guys like the gingerbread icons in the status bar I can make a MOD for that too. There is a lot of simple stuff that I can put together for you guys fairly easily. I was working on theming the status bar before the MMS issue came up. But the reboot recovery and other system stuff will take some time getting familiar with how everything works in this ROM.
 
Everythingworks dreamy smooth and GPS is locking fast as heck, but the beautiful clock widget and foursquare are having some problems with gps locations. Foursquare just shuts down. Could it be a setting ?

As far as foursquare goes alot of reviews are saying an update messed it up. Are you referring to Beautiful Widgets or some other app?

Beautiful widget, I get location doesn't exist. Gps locks in seconds on Google maps. I love this rom btw
 
Rocking the V4 and liking it so far. I'll do a battery drain test to compare with what I was getting on C7 with no wifi on. Big bonus is the voice to text feature that for some reason wasn't in the CM7 build I was using before.

Oh, and.. please kill that boot noise! bweka weka pow pow

P.S. with AGPS, 2-second GPS lock indoors, where before, outdoors it would take at least a minute and never had a chance indoors. Incredible!

hmm even with wireless location enabled it get geolocation problem. In stock rom BW would get geolocation error unless you enabled use of wireless location. hmm GPS fix also force closes but not stock rom. I'm playing with app Called "make Your Clock Widget" (fun to play with)... what widget you create set weather location. I am able to load weather location from the GPS and by city/ state but on fixed position (taken from GPS) it shows the correct Latitude and Longitude but when it goes to "map it" force closed happens as well. guess just have to hand enter zip code.

As for GPS, this is the first rom to allow me to get my location from inside my house and is very accurate. There are settings to use AGPS in Settings>Location & security settings.

Edit: I just added a note in the op about the GPS.

Edit 2: I watched a full TV episode from a network website in the browser, through HDMI, and didn't have any issues. I also watched a few youtube videos through the browser and they went fullscreen just fine. What site or video were you trying to watch? You also have to remember this is froyo so there will still be froyo issues, not saying that is the cause. But, this is still a work in progress, thank you for your feedback.

Is Jetflicks compatible with hdmi? And my GPS is not working right. Is there a fix or workaround for the agps?

I had the same problem with beautiful widget and fixed it by selecting settings->advanced->alternate geodecoder.


I am getting forced closes when using other gps apps such as gas buddy.
 
I think I'm goona start over from scratch, now that I have a better understanding of what all needs to be done, to get this working. There seems to be alot of apps that use location based services that FC. I also found that the phone has reboot built in, I went in to agps setting and enabled SSL and it said it needed to reboot now or later, I selected now and it rebooted. I kinda got today off so I'll see what I can come up with.

I fixed the beautiful widgets error by selecting use alternate geodecoder (see my post above). Is it possible the gps app force closes are the result of the geo data being delivered in an unexpected format?

SSL is need for the aGPS. It's a certification. cause if the SSL was outdated, as with some phones, the aGPS doesn't work. Even if you instal other roms and then do clean instal of Sharp ROM the check mark is there (where first instal it wasn't). Seems it does something internally and not just with ROM. but if you remove check mark (restart) and clean instal a ROM the check mark stay off. Hope that makes sense. I think it's a mater of who is the SSL with like what fescokid said he use alternate decoder.
 
I think I may be on to something. I found out that there are 2 versions of the phone, Taiwan and China. I think I stumbled on to a modded Taiwanese version of the ROM. I got it to boot after some tinkering, but it won't get past the lock screen, just reboots.
