Root [ROM] Preludedrew's ICS-March 28-Alpha1

Yeah, I know p5 has been posted for a bit, I saw that. I just wondered if here was a newer version i hadn't seen, and if you had any intention of keeping up with his releases here , or if this was kind of a once and done thread. Basically wondered if this is a good place to check for updates. In any case, again, thanks .

Who's working on a kernel? I thought drew was the one who modded tiamat to boot for ICS on Evo to begging with. Obviously I could be wrong. But watching the first efforts of ICS on Evo, my memory was that Drew was 100% and solely the one to thank for the kernel even booting on an Evo.

After a week + of daily driver, I have noticed a few small issues, but don know if others experience them
Will post more about it later,....I'm way to tired and drunk to annoy people with my rambling, wandering ass lol.
 
drew posted update. I haven't flashed it yet. reluctant to cuz p5 is running so sick for me all week.

alright F it. I've tried a dozen ways to get a screen cap up of his twitter post. keeps failing. anyhow p6 is up. no change log that I can find.

also, on p5, when you try to USB tether , does settings FC? does for me.
 
Anyone here have any opinion/commentary on p6 yet? I only ask cuz p5 has been running rock solid for me for 2 weeks now, (and I barely have room on SD for a nand backup ATM). Just curious if others notice any improvements or failures. Thanks all. ;)

I've been using youmail from the market. I wasn't a fan of going to a 3rd part app for vvm, but honestly, I'm pretty impressed. I didn't go with Google voice just cuz I've seen a lot of people have headaches trying to "undo" Google voice, and reclaim their phone number.

Thanks! another question, I'm having constant reboots what can I do to stop this? The ROM works great for about 30 minutes but then gets into a boot loop..... anyone???
 
weird. I've only had 3 reboots in 2 weeks. I'm not sure how you could pull a logcat to see what's causing the reboots. I can only confirm that I'm not experiencing that at all. Maybe reflash the rom, and/or try a different gapps. I wish I knew how to pull a log at after reboot. There are some logcat apps in market that may do that, I'm not sure what after-the-fact commands you would use from terminal emulator. Hopefully someone else does. Is there anything you usually are doing when it reboots?

My set up:
Alpha p5
(I forget which gapps, from xda 27mb and fixed calendar and email apks seperately)
amonRA 1.80
Hboot. 76.200 Eng
HW002 Evo
Installed all apps fresh from market or SD install (didn't Ti restore anything)
 
o.k., so a stupid question as i am trying to lear/understand all this flashing.

i flashed preveiw 4 but had no market and freaked out and went back to mikg 3.0

do i have to install the gapps to get everything else working? or shall i say to get the market?

and anyone using this regularly, what is not there?

i guess the voice mail since you have to install one from the market.
 
I flashed P6 this evening and it would not hold my Wifi connection. Would connect then immediately drop. Not sure if that is an issue for anyone else, but I figured I would share that. Also miss my Swype on this ROM...any chance of adding it or do we have to use the ICS keyboard?

Since it's aosp, yes you will always need to install gapps

Wi-Fi works great for me on p5, so does swype. Did these work for you on p5, or is it new release roe, or user/recovery flash error? Did they work for you on p5? Anyone else experience this? I haven't flashed p6 yet, cuz p5 is solid. Except USB tether Fc settings. Fixed in p6 or Antone confirm it working?

you can register at beta swype and get the swype beta installer which will allow you install the latest beta verison which imo works way gooder than any official ones that come preinstalled on some roms xD!

everytime a new preveiw is flashed do you have to reinstall gapps? and how do you install gapps?

flash or is it an apk?

sorry for so many questions.
