Root [ROM] Quattrimus JB (CM10, AOKP41)

How the heck did that happen lol. :p I guess I should have tested better before giving up and saying it wasn't working.

And as a side note to the devs, with GPS working, what the heck could the AtCmdFwd service be for? Certainly nothing all that important lol.

Need to update the op with "gps works! data is solid!"

Can anyone tell me why I flashed the cab, but my radio is still stuck in 'roaming'?

When you guys go to 'Network', what does it say under sim card? 'NV' or 'sim'? I think thats my problem and I'm about to flash AOKP again to try to get the hardware working with the software again.

But dev feedback would be appreciated, since I'm at a loss. i tried all the tricked I used to use on my Droids when the data crapped out like this to no avail.

I'm probably not going to be much help, radio is not my strong suit... but I can suggest you do a backup then a full wipe and install again. Never failed to get a solid 4G connection on the loaner phone.

The NV/Ruim settings are actually stored under one of the EFS partitions. It's why we can have issues between flashes and why DDing a backup of your EFS partitions will fix roaming issues. The instructions I gave him should get him back up and running as they were the same ones given to me and they've worked each time.

I set it to sim, turned the radio off and on, rebooted and it finally worked. Odd thing is I tried that a a few times, but it worked after the cab flash.

So which do you guys like better? I'm on the new aokp but it does seem as fast as the old one. It could be psychological. Charging takes forever on aokp 41 which is odd. Anyone else notice that?

AtCmdFwd is some kind of proprietary service, apparently on other devices as well, but ignored in source based roms. Some kind of CAF/Qcom crap.

CM10 seems to be charging just as fast or faster for me. I could be imagining it though because I'm using a different charger than usual.

You made me stay up past my bedtime....

On CM10 data and GPS working, used GPS status and locked in about 30 seconds when I walked outside.

WiFi tether worked on a quick test.

Some oddities in account syncing, pictures for some missing that sort of thing.

Only need bluetooth.

Reportedly yes. See posts 25-28 and 37.

Thank you for the quick response. I'm trying to catch up now :P

Edit: Wow... somehow I missed half of page 1. So sorry for the question that was already answered...repeatedly. And thanks for being kind in answering my question.

TDM:

Quick check. On init.iproj.rc in the kernel, the first line calls out "import init.iproj.usb.rc" but that file doesn't exist in the kernel. Is this a bad import line or a missing file?

Also, sweet work on CM10 :D

Great catch... again. :) That's a genuine issue. Could be causing some USB connectivity issues.

I spent a couple hours yesterday consolidating the rc-files between i_atnt and i_vzw. Obviously there's more work to do. :) You can look at the CM github or tear apart i_atnt/boot.img in the rom for what should be the reference. Of course i_vzw has its own specific stuff added, mostly to handle LTE complexities.

The dev team for the Spec truly rocks!! Thanks again for all your hard work tdm... as well as d2a, neph, and playfulgod.

I may not be able to compile for shit, but I can definitely run thru init files and settings with the best of them. :)

I know this is a very minor "trouble". I am missing 2 options in AOKP 4.1 vs 4.0 :

1. Ability to show lockscreen before keypad shows up to enter PIN. My company policy forces me to secure the phone with a PIN. In 4.0, there was an option to show lockscreen before the keypad shows up (you unlock by sliding or select an app by sliding and then the keypad will showup to enter PIN, once entered correctly, that app would open up), I don't see that option in 4.1

2. Ability to disable CRT animation.

I need one anyways to develop a miui build. ;]

Start a thread for this. Please. I would love to get a hold of this...if only for novelty's sake.

I think I'm pretty much set with AOKP41, but MIUI was my ROM of choice back in GB days (They never seemed to get it quite right after that..)

I still remember running MIUI on my Fascinate with the Glitch kernel...man that thing flew.
