Root [ROM] Quattrimus JB (CM10, AOKP41)

I have been watching this thread develop over the past month-plus and I wondered if CM10 is a good daily driver for me. I pretty much rely on GPS and Bluetooth and I see that it seems to be hit and miss with this rom. I am wondering if I should go with ICY Fusion over this ROM for functionality until this is no longer beta. What would you all recommend for a more business based user like myself?

Thanks again to everyone whose developed for this phone. Great job, could not ask for more!

This is definitely a daily driver. I have used it since the day it was released and to me it's worked well enough since then to be a daily driver.

Like trigger said, just make sure gps is on and you get a lock right before flashing this and you will be fine. I never use Bluetooth but as far as I know Bluetooth works fine.

No need to wait any longer! Just flash the room already!

So just an update: I did the hysteresis setting at 0% and my phone has run like a charm. I have only seen one screen flash the entire time I had that setting on. Thanks guys we're about to perfect cm10

Just out of curiosity what does hysteresis do?

It's been a daily driver for me since it came out. GPS and Bluetooth work perfectly for me. As others have noted, just make sure you have GPS lock on stock before you flash it.

Anyone have thoughts on what to do for those who still don't have GPS? I have a backup of ICS after pwnage. Do you think reverting to that, getting a GPS lock and then putting CM will help?

...and just for clarification, you're making sure GPS has been able to establish a lock before you boot the device into CWM correct?

I think it will help. When I first flashed cm10 I didn't get a lock so I actually flashed icy fusion got a lock, then flashed Cm10 and it worked like a charm

This is true. It's all you need to do. I too was one who didn't have working gps but flashing back to stock ics and turning on gps and getting a lock fixed everything.

I'm a business based user as well... *must* have GPS and full Exchange sync support and this is a rock-solid daily driver for me. Bluetooth has been 100% for a while now (sans some apparent issues if you are trying to use a game console controller or external keyboard with your phone).

GPS is good as well. I haven't seen a single complaint about GPS from anyone who has:
1. taken the OTA update to V7 / Stock ICS (or restored to stock using the V7 cab)
2. Enabled GPS on V7 stock
3. Obtained a valid location lock
4. Used the bootloader pwnage tool from this forum
5. Flashed any recent build of TDM's CM10 (or AOKP41)

If anyone has followed those steps and still had GPS problems, please say so. We've seen a ton of "yes that works for me" messages, but I don't remember any that said "nope, tried it that way and it *still* doesn't work"

Alright...i was able to get GPS back- reverted to my backup of 'STOCK ICS after ROOTING'; Started GPS, obtained lock, rebooted straight into recovery and loaded CM. GPS Works fully now.

Thanks All!

GPS seems to be broken for me even after following the above mentioned advice in this thread. However, I am not sure if it has to do with GPS Status app or Faster GPS. Maybe I should flash again.

-update-

GPS seems to find me then move 2-3 miles from me, find me, then move away again. I have experianced most of these problems when installing roms on this phone. Usually I resort to getting a manufactures refurb however this is the 3rd spectrum and the rep at the VZW store told me they do not replace after 3 phones on warranty. I guess I have to use insurance for the 4th phone... Oh well, I am probably going to flash back to stock ICS as it worked for what I needed it to do.

I don't have too good of luck when mucking about on this phone. I appreciate all of the efforts on these roms though. :)

It sounds like you didn't get a genuine gps lock, only wifi/cell tower location lock. Flash back, download gps test for the play store and get a solid lock with it. Then flash back to cm10 and do the same.

Do I have to do anything special to enable the kmsg script? My wife's phone is experiencing reboots, but I'm not seeing any last_kmsg under /proc

Just chipping in again, been on 6 since it came out, and been on each version before that since those came out (definitely a crack flasher). I have only had 1 single reboot since B4, using bluetooth everyday in my car, used GPS a few times. Everything works amazing. So for those wondering on daily driver use, I'll attest this is perfect. If TDM was Microsoft in the ME days, this prlly would have been RTM at Beta 4.

As a side note the 1 reboot was right after my dad sent me an MMS message. Also as a side note, he has an iphone. As more of a side-note, I blame the iphone sending a virus because it's jealous. :)

Amazing daily driver, IMHO better than V7 stock. This phone truly would have been a competitor on the market had it ICS at launch and received Jelly Bean. I would say keep up the good work, but... Well, the good works already been done. If you can make the phone yet even better, well I honestly can't believe you can. Not you specifically TDM, but anyone. Although CM10.1... Well, we'll wait to see!

cm10.1 with the camera working would definitely make it much much better :p Other than the lockscreen and lame toggles I have everything else from 4.2 on my phone.

But I'm very happy with what we got. :]

Probably no release today. I screwed up the init trying to add the baseband version and rearrange the init files all at once. It took too long to track the issue down and I ran out of time. Turns out the vs920 requires the firmware be mounted earlier than the p930.

Now that I know what needs to be done and when, it won't take long to make it happen. So tomorrow for sure.

Its all good...take ur time tdm, its not like you havent rolled anything out for us before :)

Here's an odd error I just noticed. In the stock Calculator app, results show up with some characters mixed in in place of numbers. For example, 250+250=4A0. 5*3=F. Not sure if this is only me, so I didn't want to submit it to the tracker unless someone else confirms.
Thanks!

That is odd, but calculator works perfect for me. 250+250=500
