GUYS GUYS GUYS!!!! Ok done with the caps. Except....BLUETOOTH WORKS!!! I'M SO EXCITED!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Ok *now* I'm done with caps. Bluetooth works fine and I'm still on Joneidy's sense rom and everything. Last night I found the link to and existence of the UOT Kitchen, and made myself a theme that's similar to Joneidy's theme for sense with some icon/font changes just to try it for fun. Submitted the requisite framework-res.apk to let the "kitchen" (website) "cook" my theme, got it back, installed it, and thought it was cool, and went to sleep. Today, I get up and start getting ready to go somewhere (which I am now going to be terribly late for lol), and because of the drive, I figured I'd give my bluetooth earpiece another shot.

It paired flawlessly!

I got excited and jumped around in a circle like a little kid, but kept in mind that this had happened once before. So I got on my laptop and tried to pair with my computer. The proper window finally came up on my phone with the 6 digit passkey to match to the one on my laptop. I took too long the first time and it failed, but only because of me, not the phone, so I tried it once more and clicked efficiently lol. And guess what.....

It worked great!

So that's the next thing to try, fixitpete and anyone else who's still having trouble: cook up a theme in UOT Kitchen. Maybe forgo any mods and just upload the framework-res.apk and download the zip the site gives you. Flashing and theme creation instructions are on the site at UOT Kitchen. Kitchen.

:( Bluetooth failing again.

I go in to change the icons in my theme some more (putting back a couple of Joneidy's because I like them better), put it back in the apk, rezip everything and reflash. I figured it'd be worth making sure bluetooth still worked after doing so. Earpiece still works so I haven't unpaired it, but when I tried to connect to my laptop to play music, it connected, and evidently my laptop and phone both thought everything was working fine, because the song was playing, except, **I had no sound**. Computer volume and phone volume were both up like they had been before. So I thought I would try to delete the pairing from my laptop and my phone and try to pair again, and now I'm back to the same errors as before.

So aggravating!!!!

lol...I can see you take nothing that I posted there seriously. I get your point, but I'm posting that info in case it might be useful to Joneidy or anyone else who might have an idea how to fix this. If I were a developer and trying to work out bugs, I would go nuts if all any tester ever told me was, "it's broken" or "it's broken again."

I know, I was just trying to add a bit of levity to the frustration. Wasn't intending it to be mean.

As I mentioned before, there has to be some subtle differences between the phones for which BT works immediately, and without fail, and those like yours where it comes and goes.

I don't know how to parse those differences out but I'll start by posting minimal details for my phone.
I can add more details via LGNPST if joneidy or someone else would like to give me some instructions as to what might be helpful.

Ah no worries. I thought you were making a joke but at the same time being dismissive, as in "everyone gets that your bluetooth doesn't work. enough already." I'll take your word you didn't mean that. I wonder how much the bluetooth radio is either tied into the CPU, or perhaps built on a nano-level like the processors are. That would possibly explain differing behavior, although it doesn't explain why the stock rom lets my bluetooth work perfectly (short of using my laptop audio as a speakerphone).

To chime in, I just checked, and those details you posted are identical on mine.

Ok so I am using this ROM and trying to work on my desktop creating shortcuts using bettercut... And at some point the desktop is not functioning properly any more. I mean I cant rearrange icons with a longpress on them, also longpressing on an empty screen doesn't bring that menu. Rebooting doesn't solve the issue.
It's happened second time today. After the first one I even had to 'nandrestore' to get it back to normal and now again.
Anybody got any idea how to fix this?
Thank you

Sometimes applications, like bettercut, may not play well with a custom launcher like ADW.
Try uninstalling bettercut or install another launcher like GoLauncher if you must have the functionality of bettercut.

Thanks. I got it. There is an option "Lock screen" I didn't see it before.
Anyways, I did install GO Launcher - seems pretty handy with all those themes available and its possibility to create folders in app drawer (main menu).
BTW is there any other way to create folders in app drawer without any additional software since i have root?

Folders specifically? not really. But you can categorize. If you're using ADW, in your app drawer, push menu, then tap "Choose Group". If you haven't made any yet, you'll see "New Catalog" and "ALL". Tap "New Catalog", then type in whatever you want to call it. Catalog = category. Tap OK, and then you'll see a blank app screen--you're now in the category you just created. Press Menu, then tap "Setup Group". You'll now be in a list of ALL of your apps, and you can check all of the ones you want in the category you just created. Once you've got the ones you want, tap OK. Now you'll be back in your new category with new apps added. If the apps haven't shown up, look in your dockbar and see that you can switch categories by tapping "<" or ">" on either side of it. Switch categories to another one and back to your new one. You should now see it updated with the apps you chose to list in it.

I believe most of these launchers will have a method for organizing your apps within the app drawer--even the stock LG rom does it with labeled dividers. Each launcher will vary though. hope this helps.

I just installed this rom on my 2.2.1 optimus m and i get to the bootloader screen and it just loops. Never goes any farther, I rebooted and the same. I have let it sit for like 10 minutes. Is this normal

It does take awhile on first boot though 10 minutes seems long. Try flashing again.

Besides looks (icons), what else is Sense?

Please answer, I'm very interested. A bit too often, me an CyanogenMod7 do not get along. I'll give up theming for Sense and functinality.

anyone else experiencing problems with the weather/digital clock widget??? it was causing lag on the phone so i took it off and it is still showing the animation (which was causing the lag) even though i took it off the screen can anyone help with this????

U can theme this rom to.

How so? I want it to look as HTC sense as possible. Preferably with Launcher Pro and not ADW. I know about weather and toggle Widgets already.

EDIT: and how do I get the clock in the picture from the original post? looks more authentic than W&TW's

With any rom, stock or not, you can always download and use whatever launcher you want to and set it as default, including launcher pro, even though the sense rom comes with ADW. you just download your favorite launcher off the market and configure away.

As for the rest of the theme, the icons are pretty much the same as Sense from what I've seen, although I'm sure there may be a few differences. The notifications/status bar will be similar, although nothing in this world is perfect. I think it looks good.

If you want to create your own custom theme, visit here: UOT Kitchen. There's a how-to link on the site and everything.

And as for the clock, your best bet is to ask Joneidy since he put the rom together.

I know that it's possible to use Launcher Pro in any ROM, but I was more interested in customizing the ROM itself.

I tried to go on UOT Kitchen earlier today, and wasn't sure I had the correct options for some of the stuff, or for the right phone. Basically, I've created everything to my liking, but I need help identifying which options to fill in on the "File Upload" section to be compatible with the Optimus M running Joneidy's Sense ROM.
