Root [ROM][UPDATE: 04/05/2012][bROM v1.2]

@brom ok I put backup of phone wen it was new and unrooted and then booted up. the I put prep then booted up then I put v1 on it I was working amazing fast. then I started. putting. apps back on I used titanium back it make me Manually install is that 2.2 thing cuz made me do it took so long backup mostly games and apps that didn't need root was work good for about a hour then it got really slow and rebooted and the I went to unlock screen and open can and it froze and rebooted I tryed a few times and I started getting frustrated and miss out on taking some pictures I wanted to take so went back to other rom Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed your brom I really loved the look and feel on it I just not sure what happen One thing I wish your rom had. Is a flash on for video. I really love that. On the other roms

Yeah I would always reboot after restoring stock and flashing the prep ROM.

@Cable123, what did you use to restore apps? If you used a nandroid data backup then yes expect funny performance as ithas files from a CM& build. You always need to start fresh when switching from any ROM, especially and AOSP ROM.

I could build it off Tickerguy's CM7, but then it would be nothing more than a themed version of his build. And I'm not one for ripping people off. It seems that all anyone cares about is CM7, I built this because I'm not a fan of CM7 or MIUI and I'm providing it for the stock ROM people. If its not up to ones CM7 expectations, I cannot do nothing about that.
OK man. I understand. Its still a nice ROM regardless.

Really liking the rom over cm7 and miui but next time don't put so many apps in that can't be uninstalled... you almost added as much 'bloatware' as vm and its just that I would like option to uninstall like half of it

also on a side note im liking this rom more than cm7 im gettin better battery life by far and its runnin smooth and such only problem is when i use the power menu it reboots regardless if i choose cwm or shut down thanks b-rand awesome rom!

Same thing is happening to me when I try to turn off the phone, it will reboot, no matter what option I choose. Has anyone found a solution to this?

THanks,

I'm going to look into the recovery menu. It should work as it worked on my build and I'm using the same framework. And for the apps I added, they are not un-removable. This is a rooted ROM, so use ES File Explorer and delete the apk's in /system/app that you don't want, reboot and there ya go. Or just delete it from the zip before you flash. They are all named to be easy to find(i.e. Netflix is Netflix.apk, Es File Explorer is ES_File_Explorer) you can remove any of these you want.

The tweaks added are somewhat similar to the ones in my ROM for the intercept, only I modified them to be more suitable for the Triumph, and added some. Most are universal such as the noatime mounts and stuff like that.

It appears that I have forghot to update the kernel included. It has umph kernel in it as of right now. I am going to fix that, and attempt to fix a few other bugs and upload v1.1 hopefully tonight or in the next couple of days!

Hey when you say reboot your phone I do have to let the prep rom boot in all the way correct?

EDIT: Yeah, for anyone else trying it you do have to let it boot into prepRom. By the way the theme is really nice. There are no screenshots of it but its F***IN nice!

Hey.. this is a GREAT ROM.
It seems way faster than plain stock and, so far, seems stable.

The only thing I don't like about it is the theme. I like the animations and all, but I don't like the black and green theme.
Is there any way to flash a more stock looking theme while keeping the other tweaks in the ROM?

Thanks a lot!

So I came from CM7 to this and the only thing that I'm missing from that, and incidentally my old intercept running brom, are the power options in the pulldown. I know widgetsoid gives you the option to add them but to actually change them it opens a new window. Is there any mod any of you know of to add that again?

well the power widgets are a pain to port... as they are all smali code. which, requires decompiling the android.policy.jar, framework.jar, services.jar, and framework-res.apk and editing multiple files in them with blind luck. :( maybe mantera might be able to get it right.... :D *hint hint* lol

@mantera- if you interested i can forward you a message i got that tells me where the edits need to be made. and a power widgets template from another phone.

Thanks Ziggy you're always pretty helpful.

On a different note has anyone else had any issues with the front camera not working? I haven't tried it with skype or tango yet but with just the camera app selecting the front camera only brings up the regular camera on the back. I don't need it but I was wondering if anyone else had the same issue.

i had that issue before on this rom... i found a battery pull solved the problem for the rest of the time i was running this rom. :D

By all means mantera if you can pull it off! I tired and failed, got extremely frustrated and gave up. Given that smali is raw bytecode produced from broken down java code, smali files officially are a pain in the ass to port over, but I would love me some power widgets!

 WHY WOULD YOU EVER USE FROYO!!!
There are plenty of reasons that people may have. The great thing about an Android phone is that it allows you to make those choices as long as you know how to do it (some make this harder than others!), and it meets the hardware requirements. People are entitled to their own choices, in fact not too long ago Froyo was the one everyone wanted (before GB). Heck, soon (actually starting even now) people won't want Gingerbread, they will want Ice Cream Sandwich.
