[ROM] Velocity V0.3 | LG Ally | Fast | VZB | Android 2.1 | Stable

I think I did a bad bad thing and now i have a brick. I am new to all this and this was my first attempt at a new rom. Using Rom Manager I installed Velocity v0.2 by downloading it in rom manager. i then installed everything and the phone rebooted. first i get the LG flash screen, then the verizon, then i get the droid logo and eye and it just stays stuck there. going back and forth from the two logos. i have tried hitting the call,menu,end buttons and nothing happens there either.removed the battery and rebooted and still nothing. Some one please help me get my phone back. i dont even care if i have to start from scratch.


Ok progress phone boots now but as soon as it unlocks it force closes a bunch of stuff. i think i did not clear my cache correctly.what do i do now. i am stillnot able to boot into recovery.

After hours of agony it took 10 minutes to fix. Now I dont ever regret rooting my phone!!!
 
Dumb Question -
After velocity .3 I Installed the GNM Overclock Kernel. Now I'd like to try GNM Turbo 4. With GNM overclock installed do I use the Turbo 4 with Kernel or without Kernel? I'm not sure if the "with kernel" means you use this one if you have the kernel installed or if it means it includes the kernel.

I'm the first time to use android phone. I want to know how to flash customer rom at GT450. I had put v0.3 in sdcard and use rom manager to flash, but it dosn't work. And then how to flash clockworkmod recovery in rom manager. When the first flash, there was no GT450 for choice. I can't even enter to recovery mode. Thanks.

Velocity is built for the LG Ally (VS740) so i doubt they would work on the GT450.
 
how to upgrade my gt540 to VS740 english version ?????? help help help . I need more ram and how to boot to recovery mode ?????? help help help

i don't think you are understanding as it's impossible for you to "upgrade" to VS740 because they are two entirely different phones.
 
Trident, I have a question for you. I just installed the new Winamp app, because I've always used Winamp as my desktop player and refuse to use worthless iTunes, and I have the new 5.59 beta. The new beta allows wireless and wired syncing with android devices. When I try to sync with either, I cannot. I believe it has to do with the app running from sd, and therefore cannot mount the sd for file transfer. Am I wrong? And if this is the issue, do you have any recommendations for me?

While it's always nice to see that a situation has been resolved it would be VERY nice if folks who solved a posted problem would give some sort of summary as to how they solved their problem so that others might benefit as well!
 
So my phone just randomly rebooted and when it got back to the lock screen, it had a Droid X wallpaper, the default launcher, and apps on the home screen that I didn't put there. ROM Manager isn't installed anymore, all of my apps and user data is gone, and when I tried to install ROM Manager from the Market I got the 'not enough space' message (when I have 35mb open).

Wtf...


**I ended up going back to my original backup, before I installed v.3 and installing v.2 instead. It's running a lot quicker now. Let's see if I get any phantom wipes this time around...
 
lets first say i installed this rom on my wifes ally and she loves it but i went and changed the boot anamation and now im in the dog house can anyone please share it so i can put it back on her phone

Velocity 0.4 will just be bug fixes or maybe cosmetic fixes.

Velocity 0.3 is good enough for now because the most important feature that Trident could provide, App2EXT, he has done with 0.3.

I recommend just going to Velocity 0.3 and you will be happy.

Not so fast...

Trident reported that 0.3 benchmarks in the upper 200's on Quadrant and 0.4 is currently in the mid-upper 400's.

To put that in perspective, 0.4 stock is running almost as fast as my phone with 0.3, turbo4, drell's brand new kernel AND overclock.

Pretty incredible, really.
