it doesnt have to have a 3.0 kernel, ICS doesn have any kernel version requirements, but does need certain things backported from the 3.0 like genlock, the newer kgsl, even maybe the addition of the adreno drivers (optional) but I seen many noy have those.

But it could be ANY 3.0 Kernel, or does it have to somewhat resemble our device ( Which I highly doubt will be found ) ?
 
Alright, so find a phone that uses the same Touchscreen panel, then rewrite the touchscreen driver. In layman's terms that's what would have to be done?

Along with kgsl, genlock, and the adreno drivers.

That's just the device profile. Sad he doesn't have the kernel source. Thanks for the ideas I can always use them.

I doubt any new device that will see a 3.0 kernel will use the touchscreen the admire uses ;)

Been trying this and have had no luck so far. Just unbootable zimages....
 
Lets say I magically learn all this ROM making/kanging Stuff in a matter of hours, and I manage to help Bo port CM9 to the Admire, do I get a cookie? Or better yet, a ice cream bar?!
 
why Bo not just use the repo n build from src???? Alot easier and better in the long run ;)

Dirty ports just suck really and never get to be 100% ;)
 
Any update on the progress of the build? I flashed this and it seems to run okay minus the pointer-like way of selecting, and all the flickering. I tried this rom by flashing this then requisite0's OC kernel and it appeared to make the flicker slightly less annoying, but just my opinion. Keep up the good work.
 
this is pretty banging!!! cant wait for it to work. id be om cm7 if i could get the data to work. dont particularly use the camera but i like having one since its the norm lol. counting down for CM9 on admire. if anyone can do it its definitely Bo!!

This already has reqs cm oc kernel.
