Yeah, google is usually the first thing i hit.. And on that, from my reading, I don't believe it has to be off for the recharge.. Only when bump charging.. And for all else interested, found this excellent article on that on PPA..

Edit: I thought this app was mentioned in the article but maybe i missed it looking through again.. An app to simplify is called BatteryCalibration.. is on the market..

Edit Edit: well, tried the bump charge on it (maybe i didnt do it right) and still shot to 93 within a few minutes.. already reset battery stats when it was at 100 so going to finish that process off and see how it goes.. will keep posted..

IMHO is upgraded to Bobz from 0521 to check it out.. Don't really notice any major differences (alot was under the hood, sync with CM7 RC, etc).. One major thing about it though is that it has a different MAC address, so if you have two ascends running CM7 on the same router they wont get booted..

But to answer your question yes backup and follow the same steps.. factory reset, wipe dalvik, etc..

A few differences in SETTINGS>CYANOGENMOD SETTINGS:

1) DISPLAY SETTINGS> ACCELEROMETER ROTATION.0-270 AVAILABLE.

2) INTERFACE>STATUS BAR TWEAKS.Status bar brightness control

3) PERFORMANCE>VM HEAP SIZE>Added value of 48

i feel your pain bro its ben hapening to me since the 2.2 update even flashed back to stock but no luck it seems to happen to me most when im on the road another silly thing in cm7 international roaming how the hell am i roaming internationally even if it was ported from a forign phone its such a pain in the butt



any one with any info on these issues can claim there free spanking at my moms house pm me for her # ROTFL

Flash again make sure that you wiped davik and wiped the right stuff cause i wiped the wrong stuff and that exactyl happen and when i flashed 2 06-xx-2011 the update my phone did that :):confused:

this could also be bc you have it overclocked to 710...I ran 0514 and pre with 710 but for some reason the 0521 would lock up and reboot so i downgraded to 691 and everything worked perfectly...as of right now though i have it running at 600 and haven't seen any difference between 691 and 600 so really you need to try all the settings and see which works best with your phone...plus running at 600 my battery lasts twice as long vs. higher clock settings...
 
Finally flashed cwm and copied my sdcard to pc now im ready to flash cm7 (taking baby steps bear with me). Anyway, I see that pg's latest build is on rom manager so my question is can I do the entire process in rom manager or will I need to flash gapps seperately? I already figured id have to flash metro off outside of rom manager but i was just wondering about the gapps. Thanks.
Do I seem alittle nervous to you??:o lol

When you do it thru rom manager you get the options to dl n install gapps, to wipe data/cache, and wipe davlik cache all in the same process. SO it downloads the ROM, gapps, and then will reboot do the deed and reboot. RM makes it real simple, and has came in handy installing nightlies on my DX lol.

Oh good, that really makes things easier espescially since the steps that are involed when you flash everything manually can get confusing. So am I right about having to flash metro off for mms seperately from rom manager, or is there an option for that too?

yes you can select install rom from rom manager the select metroff from your sdcard, and uncheck any wipes.
 
What would happen if i flash the old 748 oc zip with playfuls newest version of cm7 because the new flash doesnt work with my phonee
could it work?
 
Okay i went to pg 0624 but I'm having a strange problem it gas been running great for two days now. when my phone went dead and rebooted i got a black screen with my status bar and that's it. So i try again and it gets stuck on a big white Android screen what's going on?

Update I fixed my problem I just followed all the steps again except format SD card and everything came back perfectly! Now can anybody tell me the name of a really good program that restores formatted SD cards? You can pm me. The first attempt formatted my SD card and I had no backup on my pc :(
