some how huawei had trick the cam to have auto focus, and the scanner would work, now that we have a better rom, we see the truth about the company using a trick to make it work with scanners...:cool:

My old phone was a Nokia 6275i with a 2mp camera and it took far superior pictures than the (supposedly) 3.5mp cam on here. I actually just pretend I don't have a camera on my phone because it's basically useless to me. I really don't see how people even get any use out of it.
 
Had to revert back to 0514...was getting real laggy and started to reboot..rebooted once then went into a bootloop..now im on 0514 with update oc'ed to 748 running smooth..

did you flash the oc with the new build? if so thats could be the problems you was having...
 
google goggles all of a sudden works now:D it used to just force close all the time

and i didnt notice but the camera now can zoom in and out! it couldnt do that on stock or icarus:)
 
Well i Partitioned my SD Card threw rom manager all seemed well until i went and got handcent sms ive noticed i cant select a mp3 as a ringtone it shows no media?but on the poweramp app it finds the music files easily any clue to wats going on?And when im having a convo on the phone and try to plug in the huawei ascend standard head phones/ear piece no sound comes threw them its like i never plugged them in!?
 
Well i haven't been able to install any CM7 build at all I'm trying to download the new build but the page is taking forever to load I've been trying to get CM7 since it came out ha ha I'm thinking about dumping my Windows XP OS and switching to Ubuntu 11.04 but that might have to wait since my computers lame lol btw i need a favor, can someone send me the 0521 build to my Email so i can download it and flash it idk why i'm having a problem with the page every other page is fine it doesn't take long to load not even for a download...

Well i downloaded everything correctly and i did the process step by step but my phone wont accept CM7 :( hmm idk i installed Icarus 1.1 with out a problem maybe one or two but my fault ha-ha idk why this installation isn't working, i used a card reader to move the files from my computer to my SDCard and it was the exact size but yet still nothing hmm i'm going to give CM6 a try but i really wanted CM7 i guess the saying is true you cant have your cake and eat it too lol

Anyone have any ideas? I've been having the same problem with all the CM7 Builds I've used CWM2 and CWM3... It just stays at the boot screen and I've even started the phone without the SDCard but still nothing i don't wanna give up but i might have to get another Ascend...

So on to my last resort ha-ha ;)
 
Try skipping the computer this time.Download the CM7 FILE & GAPPS (+METROFF if you're w/METRO PCS,if you're w/CRICKET DO NOT D/L METROFF) from the WIKI PAGE using the phone's browser.Then,install using CWM,which I assume you still have on your phone.I've used this method or d/l using ROM MANAGER for all 4 builds of CM7 that I've had on my phone.I've only encountered one hiccup along the way using this method & just re-downloaded the ROM & have had smooth sailing otherwise.Try to use WI-FI if possible to accelerate download time.

OK but the thing is that when i D/L the CM7 Build it only gets to 250kb and that's it nothing more but when i D/L Gapps it downloads everything i don't understand why and I've been trying to get CM6 but i can't download it, how can i download it from Rom Manager would i have to get the Premium version or can i do it from the free one? And Wi-Fi is out of the question since i can't find an open signal anywhere :(
 
You can download the Main ROMS (CM7, etc..)Monday thru FRIDAY with the free version of ROM MANAGER.Weekends are for PREMIUM only.



I can't understand why you can't d/l CM7 OTA.Unless you're stuck w/METRO PCS 1X DATA,or,you don't have enough free memory to store the ROM.

yes wifi is needed to download the rom on the phone cause this is a big file for the phone, and most likely your phone will go to sleep during the process, but for a normal pc this is a small download.

oh hmmm i have the free version a friend passed me on the license but idk how to activate it :(

Well yea i have Metro but i have 8GBs on my SDCard
and well i dont have a car to go to one of those places their not too close by to me which sucks but how can i install CM7 using the Rom Manger? I can switch them to my SDCard and do it like that, unless i can activate that license my friend gave me idk if i can do it this weekend...

If you're in an urban or suburban area,just take a walk in the neighborhood & scan for an open WI-FI hotspot.I found one last night just by walking 15FT from my front doorstep. :)


With a decent WI-FI connection,download time for either CM6/CM7 should only be about 3min. max.
 
I'm on cricket and using cm7,when i first installed i could receive mms fine now all of a sudden i am unable to download mms,i can send them fine but it always says download unsuccessful, i even re flashed the rom and still no luck
 
I installed cm7 on my ascend and everything was awesome. Then weeks later I installed it on my wife's ascend. Thats when the wifi problems started. I have narrowed it down to the fact that both ascends have the same mac address and so they both end up getting the same IP address from the wifi router. Why would both phones have the same mac address only after upgrading hers to cm7? When mine was cm7 and hers stock metro they were different mac addresses and no problems. How can I correct this and change one of our mac addresses so we dont have the wifi conflict?

i have both phones with cm7 lastest build 0521 and on the same router with no conflict, what build are you on?

Yea I did that but everyone has a wep or wpa2 I cant crack them without my laptop and BackTrack 4r1

might be the carrier but boot into cwm and fix permissions, and btw what build are you on?
