Not only Juice Defender (Bravo on dropping that KOLIO). I would also drop Apps2SD and just get SD Increase. Unless you are using WIFI you can also drop Masqued Crusader, as Metro has no 3G network..Its either 1x or 4g..and the Ascend is not 4g capable. Not really sure why you have CacheCleaner and CacheMate...They both basically do the same job.

Your phone performance increases basically come from limiting the services and programs running on your phone, and Android Assistant is very good for this. Also invest in Titanium Backup Pro. It will allow you to freeze a lot of useless apps that you really don't want to delete off the phone.

Other than that. There is not really much else you can do. The Ascend is very limited. If you want a speed demon of a phone, i recommend you upgrade to the Galaxy device offered by Metro.

Same problem i have in Largo FL. Supposed to be in their premium area, and as soon as i walk into my living room i have no signal anywhere in the house.
 
Well i have upgraded frum 3.0.2.8 to 3.2.0.0 all seems well with cm7 so far!!And how come when you upgrade "cwm" it always shows 3.0.0.5?

Thanks i dropeed all 3 of them,Juice defender,ChacheMate,Masqued Crusader (Cause i have metro on wifi). and i was thinking of that phone for my next phone whenever something happens to my ascend, i heard its faster than mine by a mile.Anyways is there any games for my ascend that is good? and works? (I really dont care what type of games)

I like Angry Birds Rio and Doodle Jump. Also Plants Vs. Zombies is launching exclusively on the Amazon AppStore:

I didn't try it yet on the Ascend but its free today. If I were I'd check the AppStore because they give away a paid app free everyday.
 
It seems I'm not the only one struggling with the latest build of CM7 for the ascend (05212011) I was running 05142011 with no problems (oc to 710) but with the new release I get a lot of FC's, it freezes up and reboots, I tried without overclock, and the same.

And I did flashed from scratch and without wipe, same result....

Any tips?
 
I guess i gotta wait for another build or find an old build but the thing is that it the same with CM6 so idk maybe a newer ROM will work :) i'm not giving up
 
My MetroPCS Ascend MMS will not work, now this phone has CM7 build 5212011 and i read all the steps, and did the step where i had to flash the ZIP file " MetrOFF-v1.3-MMS-GB-Edify-CM_ASOP-No_Roaming_indicator_Off_signed.zip" , but when i went to the app of voice dialer to look for the apn, it was blank, so i tried a different approach to it, i created a new APN following these Settings (From "Ultimate coustimization Ascend" thread
"fixing mms for metro

open your phone setting and go to "wireless and networks"
select "mobile networks" then "access point names"
ress the menu button and select "new apn"
fill in with the following:

Name: MetroPCS

APN: <Not set>

Proxy: proxy.metropcs.net

Port: 3128

Username: <Not set>

Password: <Not set>

Server: <Not set>

MMSC: http://mms.metropcs.net:3128/mmsc

MMS proxy: <Not set>

MMS port: <Not set>

MCC: 310

MNC; 16

Authentication type: PAP or CHAP

APN type: default,supl,mms

But when i tried to save it said i could not leave the option "APN" not blank.
SO is there anything else i can do so i can get MMS working again?

P.S: I flashed the zip file i typed to you in the first paragraph later on after i flashed cm7, maYbe thats it,but im not sure so please help
 
I guess that means we have reached the end of the road for cm7 and any tweaks or updates, unless someone else picks up the ball, nutmeg or playfulgod?
 
You shouldn't have to modify your APNs at all after flashing MetrOFF-v1.3-MMS-GB-Edify-CM_ASOP-No_Roaming_indicator_Off_signed.zip. And yes, your APNs will be blank, but MMS should still work. Did you test your MMS or did you assume that since APNs is blank, it's not working?

yes i flashed it, so i wanted to see if it worked so i went to APNs and it didnt, so i made a new APN and you mean the APN menu or option? And when i edited it it showed me an error saying, you can not lwave the APN (option) blank.
 
uh.... smartass did the same thing so i just got it set to performance and its runs good like normal i was hoping for faster movement.

okay it has worked i think, i saved it successful but when i did hit on "save"it just took me to the menu with no options, in other words blank menu. Is that suppose to happen?
 
Okay. There is a setting that needs to be changed, erase the Proxy Server information. I'm sorry I didn't catch it the first time. Metro stopped using the Proxy Server. I put it in so many times it still looks normal.
And yes for some reason the APNs disappear now. I just checked my Ascend to double check.
