Root (ROMS)STOCK 4.67.651.3 (new ota update)(ROMS)

How do we know which one to choose? I don't want anything fancy, just the same thing of what I'd see if I was unrooted, but for a rooted phone. I don't remember if I did ODEX or DEODEX on the previous update.

they are all pretty much bareboned as much as possible. you will have to pick and choose from them. i do not think that it really matters they all seem to be very similar.

and i would go with the odexed version. basically the difference is that odex is smaller but is harder to theme. de-odexed is larger but can be themed.

that will depend on your phone. some reports with the earlier updates that 3g gets improved and thus battery life is a little better. the last update did not really do anything for my phone. for some it made it worse. so who knows what the latest radio's will do. give it a try and let us know.

The last one didn't do anything for me either.

I think I'll listen for some feedback to persuade me. I'm sort of hesitant to mess with the radios. :eek:
 
Well, once you are rooted...

1) You simply download the ROM, put it on your SD card.

2) Backup your apps that you need to save the data on with titanium backup

3) Create a nandroid backup (this is done from recovery)

4) Wipe everything except for your SD card (wipe SD-EXT and SD-android secure)

5) flash superwipe (optional but recommended)

6) Flash the rom

7) Restore your apps with titanium backup
 
I did it the other night and really haven't noticed any difference in anything.

You Can brick your phone flashing radios, so make sure you know that.

make sure you have a good charge on battery and don't pull the battery on it once you start.

What i did was put it on the root, not in any folder, of my sd card. Then I wiped cache and dalvik cache and then selected to flash a zip and chose that file.

It went through a number of contortions, put text on screen, had me reboot.

I put it down and left it alone and then I was back in recovery and had to reboot again to get phone up. was wondering if I had messed up...

Came up and worked just fine though, but like I said, I haven't noticed any changes.
