Root Roms??

well that depends on what you are interested in
sense:
mikfroyo 4.6, koni elite iii, fresh 3.5 (he has a beta of a leaked GB), and don't forget kings unleashed r5

aosp(non-sense)
kings gb r3, cm7 (bunch of different themes ie first blood), salvage mod, destoryer, and miui.

you can get all of them in ref#2 in my sig.
 
Man this is awesome for real. Im using kingsromr5..but ima do the blue ballah one next..if some one could come up with a black and gold rom with egytian type deal it would be pimp as hell.

oh, and gorilla.... CM7 is sooooo worth checkin out at the very least and use the tiamat kernel in my sig if ya feel so inclined :)
 
GorillaBang is the shit huh!!! NamRedrum is what I used to use but I have grown up a lil bit LMAO..naw on the real its just something that i put out soon as I got my evo
 
i've been using Myn's since RLS 2, but i'm looking into experimenting new roms.

I tried CM5 when it was out, but I didn't like AOSP because i thought it was ugly... what do you guys recommend? Is AOSP worth trying to get used to? And what's the big difference between that and Sense. (i.e. better battery? less compatibility etc.)
 
dude i was sooooo like you. i was a sense guy all the way. i tried a few aosp roms that were out but they were to buggy at the time. but then i flashed kings gb r2 and then r3 aosp roms which are based off of cm7.0.2.1. and i have never looked back to sense again. aosp roms now have everything working. i tried the latest r4 but i did not like the theme very much. i love the setup in my sig. the tiamat kernel is awesome!!!! you can get the rom and kernel from my sig ref#2

random question: do you use handcent on cm7? and if you do, is scrolling through your list of conversations really choppy (it's slow for me on myn so i had to switch to gosms)
 
I just use standard cm7 with a custom splashscreen and bootanimation with a solid and tweaked kernel and launcher pro... launcher pro aka LP has a ton of customizing options and color choosing options. Of course your own background is a must etc etc I guess once I think about it, there's a few more things too lol I turned on the animation audio too which ill advise can be a bad thing if you're restoring from a nandroid that has it enabled lol

yeah i use handcent on cm7. myn's has always been slow and laggy for me when i first tried it. cm7 is awesome!

+1 i really love lp as well. it just seems a lot more zippy then adw.
 
I just wiped and went over to CM7.0.3.1/Tiamat 3.3.8, i can say the battery life is already noticeably better than it was with Myn's 2.2/netarchy-sbc and it is also much snappier and faster.

However, this AOSP rom has a two things that I miss that sense had.
a timer/stopwatch app
Smartdial (when i dialed in sense it wasn't a number, i dialed as if typing someone's name with T9)

what can i do about this?
 
Download a stop watch app

and when you go to dialer hit the magnifying glass on your phone and start typing

Ah well what about any feature that if i start dialing the first few digits, it has gives me a list of people that match up?

and also visual voicemail, does AOSP have anything like that?

It will if you hit the magnifying glass, I think...

You can still set up vvm, if not most use google voice
