Root Root and CWM Recovery for ZTE Concord 2

any way to remove this? ive lost 3 phones due to bricking AFTER the root was done. how you ask? FREAKING METRO PCS WILL STILL SEND AN OTA UPDATE EVERY NOW AND THEN TO YOUR PHONE, EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT A CUSTOMER.

no sim card and airplane mode. i bought 5 of these for a swagbucks/perktv farm. they all worked wonderfully with the root in place. randomly, they all started getting this error:

http://i.imgur.com/6bZX6kw.jpg

the only thing done to them was root. when zte was contacted, the first thing they asked after getting basic info was 'is the phone rooted?'

id add a DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK if you have not, as well as include a method to remove.

ive tried every method to get around the security error. reflashed a custom rom, a stock rom, a rooted stock rom, nothing.

I have a z730 and I was able to put CWM on it and I thought I rooted it but I guess I did not. When I use SuperSU I cannot update the binary file. From what I read that is the reason why it did not root. Is this a common error? I searched around but could not find an answer. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

I figured it out... I moved supersu.zip to my android and installed the zip. :)

Hello, I got my ZTE Concord II to be rooted, I used Root Checker and Used APARTED to make sure that rooted works, I am trying to use Link2SD, (which was wondering if anyone knows, do I even need to do this, I noticed within settings and applications there is an option taht says something to the likes of Move to SD, maybe Link2SD is really meant for Kitkat rather than Jelly Bean? I was wondering if anyone got Link2SD working on ZTE Concord II? maybe i totally dont need it... anyways, whats going on is Link2SD cannot mount the second partition of the microSD Card (Which is formatted as Ext4.) I know the memory in this phone is low, so I wanted to make sure all apps can be installed and moved to SD to save the internal space.

please let me know if anyone got Link2SD working, or its not working because its not needed in Jelly Bean,

when i try to use Link2SD, it feels like it doesnt gain Access to root fast enough, I checked Supersu and Link2SD does have rights to gain access to Root, but it keeps giving me an error saying it needs access to root.

You are able to move apps to sd card without having to use that app but, only the ones that'll allow it. I've been able to save quite a bit of space from that option.

As far as mounting the second partition, I'm not 100% sure, but this phone is only able to make system changes while it is off (something like that...hroark explains it better in the OP. I suggest you go back and read it) so, maybe that has something to do with it? Something like you can't bypass the bootloader while the phone is on or something..access to something is restricted while it's on. Stuff like deleting apps has to be done through adb (which I have yet to figure out how to do).

Hey yes, After working on this for like 3 days straight, I've given up on Link2SD with this. which is a shame, cause it looked so promising, now i have to rely on google to have done this better... I wish zte concord didnt write protect that stupid phone, if anyone know of a custom rom for this please let me know... anyways, Im a little worried about deleting the junk in these phones, but I'll give it a shot... there was a list of them in the thread, i was wondering if anyone deleted all those in the thread, and if it broke the phone or not, Im worried about Metro Updating stuff and breaking my root, cause Im giving this to family outside of USA, and I wont be able to fix it if it did some auto updating.

I use link2sd on my lg motion and it works great, but haven't even bothered with it on this phone.

Apparently the person who made the list removed them all and didn't have any problems, but I wouldn't know since I haven't figured adb out yet. I don't think I mounted it right or something...(if anyone feels so inclined, any tips would be appreciated)

It's funny cause I haven't seen a single update from metro since I got the phone. I'm on att now but still didn't get any even when I was with metro. O_o hopefully they never come. I know with the LG motion, I froze the system update apk or something so I never had any problems but I take it this phone doesn't have one since I can't find it, lol. Otherwise that would have been the first thing frozen..

I honestly think the Write Protection issue with this phone is what is causing the problem, compared to the LG version, that is the only real difference I see, I also noticed facebook and whatsapp doesnt allow us to move to SD Card... sooner or later it will run out of space....

my phone is rooted and it came with cwm v6.0.5.0 so now i download rom mgr and it says phone not supported however i have cwm on it so i check yes in rom mgr now it asks what kind cwm 2.x or cwm 3.x+ so confussed rite now all i want to do is get it ready to flash roms oh and i am a newbi so i really would appreciate the info if any on this whole process

Please don't post the same request every 20 minutes. When someone is familiar with your phone and the topic comes along you may well get some help. From what I can understand you are using wrong CWM and that there are no custom ROMS for this device. Did you search this site? There's a very long thread here which may help http://androidforums.com/threads/root-and-cwm-recovery-for-zte-concord-2.872326/
thank you didnt realize it posted twice actually when i rooted the phone that cwm came with it the root is pretty new

If anyone has noticed, in the other forum about hard bricked and can't boot into recovery, the op there was starting he might of had a break through on the rw protection. If any devs still are on this thread I suggest checking the rom he uploaded.

Just sayin

No sorry (on my phone xD) but it's under all things root.

He's uploaded the rom if anyone wants to mess around with it

I need Help Pleaasee!! :((

Hi, So I just rooted my Concord II, and installed Link2SD. I partitioned my SD card with MiniTool, and made a Fat32 and a ext2, both primary. But when after opening Link2SD and giving it root access, It gives me a popup saying select the file system of your SD card's second partition, and I select ext2 and press ok. But then a mount script error popup comes up saying mount script could not be created. the error is "mount: Operation not supported on transparent endpoint". How can I fix this? Thanks in advance for any help.

The first popup is: dropbox.com/s/cp7kvaj29xec1b3/Screenshot_2015-03-08-17-12-18.png?dl=0
The second popup/error is: dropbox.com/s/018cyjrs3404hec/Screenshot_2015-03-08-17-12-23.png?dl=0

I'm not sure anyone else has this problem but I'm having problems finding WiFi.
If it's already on my phone it'll detect but anything else I either have to manually connect or not at all.

Edit: I have to manually enter access points

Thanks for making this!

I am getting the same thing, command screen pops up for a few seconds, then closes.
place the folder the flash tool is in on the root of your pc (c://) drive and run it from there dont run it from the desktop thats where it just opens cmd prompt and quickly closes after showing error screens

Does anyone know if there is a stock ROM for this phone?

And can anybody tell me what software version you are on, specifically for the MetroPCS version?

Mine is

Z730_MetroPCSV1.0.0B06

Just wondering if there is anything newer.

Did you end up doing it? Were you able to get it to work?
No sorry. I've been preping for finals along with other things and just haven't gave this too much thought up until now.
Also, I'm no dev so as to HOW to make it work is above me.
But alas, here is my outcry to devs!

IF YOU CAN BYPASS/ ALLOW ACCESS TO r/w THEN I WILL REWARD YOU.
THE FIRST ONE TO DO IT GETS AIR THAT I HAVE INHALED.
YEA.

But anyways bumpity. Please progress on it. All I can ask.
