Root Root and CWM Recovery for ZTE Concord 2

" Excuses me for my bad english, I am french "

Hello,

I am beginnig to android. I have T-Mobile US ZTE Z730, Version Android 4.3, Baseband Version Z730B01

Please I need help to Root and unlock free.

Some few questions:

- How to backup and restore EFS (EMEI), Download Applications, etc.. before to Root?

- Root the ZTE CONCORD 2 remove the GUARANTEE for T-Mobile ZTE Z730?

- It's possible To install ADB drivers on Ubuntu Linux? (Double click the ADA-ASEC-Root.bat to install)

- To Root the smartphone, the solutions for rooting It's possible to Linux or ONLY on Windows?

- After root a device, How to Unlock (Procedure) FREE?

1/Install adb
Code:
sudo apt-get install android-tools-adb android-tools-fastboot
2/Update your udev rules for adb to recogize your phone:

#create a file with your udev rules
nano /etc/udev/rules.d/60-fxos
Copy the following in your newly created file:

SUBSYSTEM=="usb", ATTR{idVendor}=="19d2", ATTR{idProduct}=="1350", MODE="0666", GROUP="plugdev"
SUBSYSTEM=="usb", ATTR{idVendor}=="18d1", ATTR{idProduct}=="d00d", MODE="0666", GROUP="plugdev"

#update permissions of the 60-fxos file
chmod 644 /etc/udev/rules.d/60-fxos
#Restart udev
sudo service udev restart

I followed the rooting procedure for the ZTE Z730 as described on this thread. Thanks. Moments after the time came to reboot into CWM the phone went to sleep and I instinctually hit the power button (which was probably the wrong thing to do). Now the phone will not boot or go to recovery mode. It will go to FTM mode and running the "adb devices" command after connecting to a Windows 7 computer with usb cable shows the model but not the serial number. I have obtained the stock ROM for the Concord II (thanks again for the link on this thread). I would like to continue with the rooting procedure that was interrupted. If anyone has an idea how that might be done that would be great otherwise some tips on using adb and fastboot to reflash the stock ROM would be appreciated.

it worked great good job thank u
ROOT AND CWM RECOVERY FOR ZTE CONCORD 2

This would not be possible with out the ASEC exploit by jcase, if it was not for people like him, developers like ShabbyPenguin and myself would not be able to do any work on these phones, so we are grateful to him and you should be as well, please show your gratitude to him in some way, even if it just a post in this thread saying thank you.

This exploit was taken from The Practical Android Exploitation document found here

http://theroot.ninja/PAE.pdf

It is a very interesting read, I recommend reading it if you are interested in Android security.

Thanks to Koush for making ClockWorkMod source code, he is an awesome guy.

Thanks to Chainfire for his SuperSU, he is awesome as well

ShabbyPenguin and I worked on the recovery and recovery install script, which is specific to this phone.

THE ZTE CONCORD 2 HAS SYSTEM WRITE PROTECTION, EVEN IF YOU HAVE ROOT ACCESS YOU CAN NOT RE-MOUNT THE SYSTEM PARTITION AS READ/WRITE WHEN YOU ARE BOOTED FROM THE "BOOT" PARTITION, THIS IS A FUNCTION OF THE BOOT LOADER AND IS BEYOND MY ABILITY TO RECTIFY

HOWEVER

IF YOU BOOT FROM THE "RECOVERY" PARTITION THE SYSTEM WRITE PROTECTION IS OFF, SO THREW A CUSTOM RECOVERY WE CAN INSTALL OUR ROOT FILES AND MAKE MODS TO THE PHONE AND SUCH

THE IS ONLY FOR THE ZTE CONCORD 2 IF YOU USE THIS ON SOME OTHER PHONE AND BRICK IT, THAT IS YOUR PROBLEM FOR NOT READING

FOR THOSE THAT ARE USING THIS ON THE ZTE CONCORD 2, ROOTING YOUR PHONE AND INSTALLING A CUSTOM RECOVERY WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY, AND IF YOU USE ROOT OR RECOVERY ACCESS TO DO SOMETHING ABNORMAL WITH YOUR PHONE AND BRICK IT, THAT IS YOUR PROBLEM, NOT MINE

You need to have a Windows Computer for this.

You need to have USB debugging enabled on the phone

You need to have your phone plugged into your computer

You need to have the ZTE USB drivers installed on the computer, when you have your phone plugged into a Windows computer, there should be an emulated CD drive that has the USB driver on it, run the setup.exe to install the USB driver

Here is a video made by Wonderlust

NEW VERISION 3 WITH UPDATED BATCH SCRIPT BY twig123
https://mega.co.nz/#!2k1kzTxA!NuFYKdVivHU-1Fgk8-VEEG-45kN94QmBEy0tIoFpO4g

old version
ADA-ASEC-ROOT-CWM-V2

Extract it to some location
Double click the ADA-ASEC-Root.bat to install CWM and Root your phone

The phone should reboot a few times, and go into CWM, and install root

You will probably get a message in CWM about "Root access possible lost"

You can choose "Yes fix root"

Now you will have SuperSU installed, you will be rooted, and you will have Clock Work Mod installed

This is how you can boot into ClockWorkMod

From a powered off state hold Volume Up and Power Button and it will boot to CWM

it worked great good job thank u
Thanks for the replay Jay. My bad indeed. In Canada the unlocked ZTE Z730 sold at Best Buy is also known as the "Martin II " (I just noticed that) and yes this threads rooting process does brick that phone. No problem really because my new Moto G 2nd generation is way classier and the earphone receptacle actually works.

Do you need a pc to have custom recovery after rooting the zte concord? And Kingroot will root lollipop but not root the concord 2? Anybody who knows if any version of kingroot will root this before I buy one plz let me know. I have no pc so thats why Im asking about one click no pc root and possible recovery methods.

Ooooooook then, guess ill try kingroot out on the concord 2 tomorrow. Havent been able to dig up any info on anybody whos tried kingroot, seams like it would root its 4.3 firmware, but all I have been able to dig up is its pc root and cwm method so unless somebody who knows would kindly share theyre info my fingers are crossed.

Hello is this thing on? Just lookin for a lil confirmation here? Uhhhh ya I'll be sure to rate AF really high as far as feed back of any sort goes WOW! Ok Ill post how she goes with kingrooting the cincords 4.3 JB firmware thanks anyway.

so pretty sure framaroot wont root the zte concord 2 and heard gandolf is the exploit to atleast try on the zte but no matter what framaroot version i try all it has is aragorn or what ever no gandolf option at all. anybody knw how to bring up other exploits within framaroot

So tried kingo root apk & it said root suceeded downloaded root checker said not rooted wtf I sooooo cant believe that not one single one click no pc root apk will not work. I rooted 4.4.2 f60 by lg and 5.0.2 lollipop with kingroot no pc but cant root this concord 2, 4.3 without a pc. did kingroot update theyre apk or what. Pretty sure you cant one click root anything anymore, sucks they need to get the one click root apks off line they seam obsolete these days. sucks for those of us without pc's

wierd stumproot says device rooted root checker says phones not wtf? anybody knw what happens if you download supersu and try to run it under these conditions? wanna give er a try but not sure what if it would hurt my phone if im nt rooted? 2 one clicks say i have root but root checker says im nt this is sooooooo odd

What did you try (and what version) that succeeded in Root?
What is that device OS? Some Framaroots need to be run a cpl times cuz some occasionally only give a partial Root first run.

Maybe some checkers only look for su and not ku. If you try to run a Root app and you get asked for Root perms, and does what it's supposed to.. then YOU'RE ROOTED.

No, no I wish! The damndest thing I knw kingo not king but kingo root doesnt have the best rep and it was only once but it said root succeded up top of kingoroot apk clicked on root checker it said no. rebooted checked again said no go still tried kingo again as kingroot just says unsupported or somthing for every device I try. jb, kk wont root squat no pc. and there is nooooooooooo gandolf exploit to try with framaroot only aragorn. Ive went through every version of every one click no pc apks made. OH! stumproot said I had root once too rootchecker says no though idk wtf is goin on other than I need a laptop for Hroark & companys root method like bad. will kingroot root the zmax? eitherway a friend vot one last month im prob gonna grab it for 40$ off her. 4.3 jb is what concord 2 runs B. Whats ku?...... oh oh you prob mean kingroot right? but ya when I get home & sit down Im gonna go through it all again, thks for gettin with me though man I thought AF was 911'ed er somthin. but ya i'll report back with a screenshot of it sayin root granted etc soon. Thks for the freedback. One last thing kingroot is the only non su root rights method and superuser apk right?

MiMiI can confirm that you can one click kingo root the Concord 2!!!! Use Kingo's SuperUser apk and/or switch to SuperSU, Im assuming supersume might work though myself I dont care for supersume I prefure SU Zip by way of custom recovery, which brings me to ask the community if theres a recovery method for those of us without a laptop or pc? Plz do tell? So I been all through the thread here and havent found what Im lookin for is there anyway I could just download cwm off playstore and gain recovery??? Or does anybody know if recovery installer off playstore is safe for concord 2? nm forgot bootloaders are locked. But ya no loki nodda? Too bad this device doesnt have much love and believe me I get why, but wish Hroark would have whipped up lokied TWRP or somthin for this device but hes always got alot goin on & this phone sucks sooooooo ya I get it. If I had a pc I would have used his, jcase & thems method but so far as I know Im only one to one click root it.

Ok folks Kingo Root is temporary root but is very easy to root at startup and it might contain busybox within it because I gave busybox checker a go before installing my busybox pro apk and it said I already had it, however it also says I have SU wich cant be right damn I wish there was a lokied recovey for folks with no pc

Not sure how too. Can backup stock way..... But not sure how to send you my stock backup..... Also gave zre zinger says kingrooted yet denied root in root checker prob cause of no SU but still denies root apps but kingroot has green check so idk some odd stuff Im dealing with. but ya srry to introduce the zinger on you and I dont really care bouy zinger its just to learn on. I dont pay for hotspot yet have it and with stock teather apk, sooooooo ya this is all so so wierd. But ya this is all just for the record.

So my guess is you cant or its not safe to even try to uninstall any google apks on this device by any way but through custom recovery and that custom recovery is only possible by way of pc? Anybody?

Use Flashify.apk from play store. Flash cwm.img you found from hroark13 then reboot recovery. Try that first..

Once installed, make backup & upload to drop box or similar place - Still need boot.img & system tho.. Post the link for me to DL. I'll rip Kingo out & install SuperSu.

You mean if I can install cwm or twrp? upload my backup from custom recovery to dropbox? and you will install su? I soooooo thank you for any attempt and if I can gain custom recovery Im pretty sure there is a Cyanogenmod 11 for this device and I can flash su zip with cyanogenmod. But ya just to make sure about this backup you need, is the backup you need a custom backup? cause obviously right without recovery I cant do a nandroid or whatnot if thats what you need.
