...This ^^^ Sprint unroot zip is untested...
...It will unroot 2.3.6 and upon reboot, stock recovery will be back...
Still doing some testing, but here's my findings so far...
1. After flashing tu_sprint_unroot, I restarted my phone, and went into recovery. I guess CWM was still on there, because it went into that. EDIT: does it make a difference that I made a backup prior to installing tu_root?
2. The unroot did something though, because apps requiring root access refused to work (correctly). However, Superuser was still on the phone, and opened without issue (I'm guessing uninstalling SU isn't part of the unroot's routine, so i'm not worried there).
3. I re-flashed the unroot and let my phone restart all the way because I turned it off right as soon as I got through the lock screen the first time, but it doesn't seem to have made a difference.
So that's my findings so far. If it'd help, I was planning to factory reset my phone and then create a backup; I could upload it here. As I've stated in previous posts, I was one of the lucky few who was able to OTA without problems, so the backup may help others that are/were having wifi issues.

Even when they were available, the Sprint unroot files didn't work (or not for me, anyway - they kept crashing Odin when I would try to use them), but I can't say for sure on the Boost. If you can, try to track down Chev's or Loota's unroot files and follow their directions. As far as I know, those ones are still available.
