well it didn't get bricked
same results though, superuser was installed on the phone, just not allowing root access
 
Hi,
I tried v11 on my ACE with version 2.3.6 and Clockworkmodrecovery 5.0.2.6
but the phone has not rooted.
Have you any idea?

Samsung GT-S5830
Android version: 2.3.6
Baseband version: S5830XWKT3
Kernel version: 2.6.35.7-per-CL787041 root@DELL86 #1
Build version: GINGERBREAD.XWKT7
 
I have restored stock recovery and after I have applied your .zip.
Great!!!
Now my phone is rooted.

hi I baught a samsung galaxy ace in europe but cant seem to find out how to update my phone from gingerbread to ice cream sandwhich without rooting my phone,I would be most appreciative if anyone could help me out in my problem, if any of you cool guys find a way to update my phoe without rooting it pleas reply to my notification

Rooting instructions and file worked brilliantly, thanks for that, Root checker is showing the phone is rooted, but I can't remove/delete poweron.ogg or Shazam. Are there further steps I can't find? Any search just says I need to have a rooted phone.

I can't root my ACE(5830i) GingerBread 2.3.6
When i try to go in Recovery Mode (press Home+Power) the phone just starts like normal.

Tryed the Super One Click and did't work. I got till Rooting DEvice...Step #7 and then it whent Not Responding, and at the ride side where it swos like statuss whats going on, there is some gibberish or somethg and thats it.

Please help.

You HOLD and don't RELEASE Home and Power button untill you see recovery mode (even when you see samsung logo you don't release the buttons). You can try even if your phone is switched on it will go in recovery mode ;)
 
Nothing. Hold it down like 1 min and still nothing, Samsung logo apears for 1 sec and disapears and then black screen and nothing

Ahh it is Ace GT-S5830i. For that model you need to Prees and Hold the (Volume up button) + (Home Button) + (Power Button) that must work I put an update in the tutorial ;)

1. Enable Unknown Sources on your phone
2. Try create folder on your SD card "Aa"
3. Put the zip file in that folder.
4. Apply the zip file from that folder.


CWM Recovery is not supported
Is working only on Stock ROM's recovery mode.
 
But, I cannot get this method to work on my phone.
I have the Galaxy Ace version GT-5830M running Android 2.3.6.
So far I have tried the universal BG root v12 and I get the "E:Error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip (Status 7) installation aborted" message.
Please help me.

I'll make a new update for your phone lol :D

EDIT: Ok now I re-done the script, any of the previous people that didn't have luck to root the phone download the leatest update and reply if is worked or not.
