That did the job, Thank you Friend, :D:D:D:D:D

P.S. should I let super user update the SU binary?

It will ask you the first time after you open Super SU and press continue, after couple of minutes your phone will restart and have the leatest SU binary v0.89. If you see in the future on Google Play Store that is a new update available...SU binary for example v0.90 you just go simply in Setting in Super SU press reinstall...after that go and install the new update for Super SU from Google Play Store and open again the application and you ill be asked as the first time when you root the phone ...just press continue and all done ;)

Just a question, if I use SuperOneClick to root my Galaxy GTS-5660, will this also "upgrade" the OS? (The current OS on mine is Android 2.3.4, and I'd prefer it doesn't change the version to say, 2.3.6 or something)

Just want to be super sure... cheers :)

Thanks stoneyboy but unfortunately it did not successfully remove my telstra branding ..

and thats a legit feedback :)

We are talking about applications removed not sim network unlocking of the carrier provider...this are two diferent things.

in the c.c.b.s.f_2 is included and Telstra One

S5830T Firmwares:
Android 2.3.4:
- S5830TDVKQ3 / TELKQ3 Australia (Telstra)

i just tried it on my galaxy ace GT-S5830M(you acces the recovery mode just like with the GT-S5830i BTW if this helps anyone). it went like this:

-- Install /sdcard ...
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
E:Can't open /tmp/sideload/package.zip
(bad)
Installation aborted.

please please help me I've been trying for several days now with different files and nothing. Thank you very much

1. Download attached file and copy it to your sdcard
2. Run in maintenance mode (power + middle button)
3. Update from sdcard, select the file upd_1.zip.
4. After the update completed - reboot in normal mode.

Thats all - now you have rooted ace with android 2.3.3, and superuser in your apps.

I get to step 3 and it starts installing. After a short while I get:

--Install /sdcard...
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
E:can't open /tmp/sideload/package.zip
(bad)
Installating aborted.

Any idea please?
