Root [ROOT] For LG Esteem ZVC!!!

Hi I was just wondering if any of the devs might 'think' this root could work on marquee? I just thought I would ask, because I have been looking for a root for about two months now, checking all options and reviews, well come to find out I can't even do a root seeing as how I have updated to zvc, unaware that it would have anything to do with rooting. So anyway, I'm not really sure about the whole downgrading thing, can someone please help?! Which is probably the better of the two options? Since I don't know much about either one. All I really know is that I want my marquee to be deodexed and open for hotspot and tethering. Please you devs are so great at what you do, I need your guidance and very appreciated advice. :)

Did you give this a try:confused:http://androidforums.com/showthread.php?p=4409795

i just upgraded my lg esteem from ZVC to ZVD. i downloaded the lg drivers, enabled usb debugging and connected as internet connection to my laptop but when i try to root it tells me permission denied and no such file or directory...???

new problem: i wanted to make a backup using rom manager but when it reboots it shows a little android guy with a yellow exclamation mark next to it. i uninstalled and reinstalled and tried booting into it with the magic button pressing but its not working =[

Magic button

Put this on your sd card via another phone or computer and flash it(install from zip) when it boots to recovery

magic buttons pressing meaning vol + power

i have exitrecovery.zip on my sdcard already but i cannot get into the recovery screen
i also tried flashing an older version but same results

i have also done a factory reset and reinstalled and still the same exclamation mark screen

Alright I'm confused now-only my second cup of coffee;)
How are you able to flash anything if you can't get to recovery?
Did you install CWM via ROM manager after rooting?
The magic button combo should give you an option to factory reset thus bringing you into CWM if it is installed.
You could then put a ROM on your sd and flash it to get it working again.

after rooting i installed rom manager and then selected flash clockworkmod recovery. it said successful so i selected backup current rom. it rebooted and the screen flashed with a little android guy with a box and an arrow and then the lg sign and then android guy with box and then lg and then android guy with exclamation mark and i had to take the battery out.
i read on another forum that using an older version of cwm could help so when it rebooted i selected all clockworkmod recoveries and tried a different version and tried rebooting into cwm and same thing and now im doing nothing with it

Ok I see now-at this point you have two options:
Upgrade to ZVD if you have not already

Or if you are on ZVD downgrade to restore your phone
