Root Root help

I need help! I desperately want to root my ov 2.2.1....but I am a little scared of screwing it up! I have read the all things root guide and hundreds of posts, but there are a lot of things that I don't understand. Can any one offer step by step directions for a newbie for root/flash?

Easy to follow and do. Its what I used when I first rooted mine and put on a ROM. If you have problems or questions, post in the Optimus V - All Things Root forum

Rooting isn't very hard. I was able to do within an hour (had to find the courage and took things slow) as a complete newb using the threads our friend has posted.
