Anything can be hacked with enough will...
Considering the Atrix has already been rooted I have little to no doubt that the talented devs will be able to root this phone. I am sure there will be some custom roms that based on blur with most of it removed.
I doubt there will be custom kernels on this phone and true aosp but for most that will not matter. I myself am not sure what I will do yet, but this phone is sure to be good and a great buy for many.
Saw that article, too. Apparently that team is already trying to crack the locked bootloader, too. I know they've been trying to crack the DX and D2 for the better part of a year now, but I'm hoping that someone, somewhere, will get it done. If they get it cracked on the Atrix and can use the same method to do the Bionic, it'll be well worth waiting a couple months later for the Bionic to come out.
Motorola probably had to give in to Google's demands to not mess with the bootloader in order to be the first Honeycomb tablet to market. It would be nice if they didn't mess with the Bionic, but don't count on it.UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER ON XOOM:
Motorola bucks its own trend, leaves Xoom bootloader unlockable -- Engadget
Possibly...unlocked bootloader on Bionic?!
That'd be amazing!
