Root [Root] Stump Root for LG G3

Saw that jcase announced this on G+...pretty sweet for the LG device owners!

 :)

(I've moved your thread over here to the all-things-root area, by the way)

Cheers!

How does that method differ from the IOroot? Easier? Same end result?
I'm clearly a possible newcomer to this device and have been reading about the different methods for root (Verizon).

It's a little easier than IOroot in that its an apk. Can't get any easier than that. :)

Also, Stumproot is the first and only root method to work on the Sprint variant.

Here's the updated root tool compatibility matrix:

That's correct, I was inquiring about the safe to remove list, didn't see it posted.

(Also, should have been more specific in that reply)

No worries :)
I have not seen one, then again, I have not looked for one. I can look around later, but don't want to get too far off topic for this thread ;)
Perhaps if you or I find one, we can start a new thread for it!! ;)

Tried to root using stump root and this is what i keep getting

Could be that your version is updated. Take a look at this thread about downgrading, then using stump:

Edit: bah, that's for Verizon, not sure who your carrier is :(
Im on sprint. Makes sense though. I guess I could try....unless I find a work around for sprint users or a downgrade for them.

Also, I didnt notice in the thread if this wld cancel out any future otas or updates of any kind??

Generally when rooted, any OTA's taken and installed will unroot you or perhaps make the phone act wonky.
In short, when rooted, don't accept any OTA's. I usually wait for the fantastic developers of ROMs to cook a rom with the latest updates in them;)
