Root Root Zte warp elite N5918

I think it is unpacked. I tried to use ext4_unpacker to unpack it, but it didn't recognize it. I was however able to use ext2explore to browse the files, which is why I think it is unpacked. I will try kitchen though. I will have to find one of my old drives with Linux on it though.

Yeah, I could get it to connect by changing the apn settings, but it would only stay connected for 10- 20 seconds and get reset. Could have been a hardware problem on my PC though. I already had cwm tether so USB tethering isn't a problem.

So I might have broke my recovery:rolleyes:, on a side note I now have access to dfu mode. What is that I thought so I looked it up on google and I guess it stands for device firmware update mode, for iOS. That's not right ZTE. It even installed a nifty little dfu driver on my PC. Is it really for iOS because I couldn't find anything with regards to Android?

Has anyone figured out how to Root this phone yet? Kangroot does not work. stops at 90%. I'm trying to get deleted texts from recent boyfriend whom died last week off there. Feel free to inbox me.

Sorry about your loss.

The PC version of kingoroot will give you temp root. You might have to restart it a few times if it hangs. Once it completes uninstall the kingo superuser apk that it installs, it is useless and it blocks your temp root from working. I'm not sure if that will help you or not but it is worth a try. Good luck!

Thanks I will try. It restarted several times.

Well this doesn't work!
Code:
cd /dev/block/platform/7824900.sdhci/by-name

dd if=boot of=recovery

reboot recovery

Which overwrites the recovery with the kernel to gain rw access, but it seems recovery partition has write protection also.

I can root it on Kingo Root but what software do I use that works to recover the lost messages? I have tried GT recovery(doesn't work), Dr Phone and others. What recovery software works?

Run Nandroid mgr while temp Rooted
And.. It only works on "Nandroids" aka: a CWM or TWRP style backup. If the messages were erased then there's nothing you can do at this time that I'm aware of..

I have a challenge to issue with payment reward to any developer who creates a non-computer "permanent" root for the N9518 in x.apk installable form. Inbox me for further information or questions. Serious responses only. Amateur developers and experienced apply. Good luck and happy rooting!

so ive been checking back on this forum periodically and im sad to say that there still isnt a full perm root BUT.... thanks to you guys and gals ive successfully temp rooted my phone with the PC version of kingoroot as well as installed busybox. to me this feels like progress and I wanted to say thank you. I joined this forum to finally try to be involved with this project. I have a basic understanding of root and I've dabbled with my HTC One M7 back when I had sprint. I'm really hoping we could make this a success. Sleep easy tonight my friends.

You didn't install busybox.. It already existed in bin folder, they started that with the Warp Sync & Zmax devices. Root purpose busybox is installed in xbin folder, FYI

Ty-, you too! Come over to the Warp Sync area for working Custom ROMs & Recoveries (for the Sync). It's an OC able quadcore that's pretty bangin' [emoji41]
