Root rooted evo 4G not updating apps

The way I understand it is that Mik3d and 2.5 both support a2sd natively and do not need to have dark tremors flashed.

Roms that do need it, you do have to go in to terminal emulator and issue the commands mentioned to make it work.

If a2sd is baked in how do you use it when you are trying to move apps?

Well, you have plenty of room. :p

Are you going to flash the rom fresh? I hear that is the best way to get it to work.

do you have titanium backup? The only reason I ask is cause that is the only way I know to see the fact that you do have that partition and stuff is being put in to it.

Talking at same time.

Flash the rom fresh with card in there, then when you are set up and stable, restore your apps TO THE PHONE. Tb has a function to move apps or restore apps to sd card, but it is different. don't use that one in this case.

if the rom has a2sd built in, everything is done for you. the apps will be transferred to the card automatically once you restore your apps. unfortunately you can just single one app to be on the card. it is all or none. but it is automatic. if you need to use darktremors then the you will need to give a command to push the apps to the card via terminal emulator.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRR! I did just what the rooting for dummies said and now I lost the rom apparently! Now instead of getting the mik splash screen I get an android one! This is about to drive me CRAZY!!! Now I am only getting a blank wallpaper on the screen after start up.
I put the file back on the card just like it said to do and now it is totally messed up! No apps no phone, nothing! This SUUCKS! I can't even get the phone to shut down unless I take the battery out of the phone.
I partitioned and chose 32 then 1024
chose ms option on then copied the files back.
upgraded ext2 to ext3

you have to upgrade ext2 to ext3 before you put files back on...dunno if you typed that in the order you did it....

once you got the files back on, you do your wipe of cache, dalvik cache, and data...and flash the superwipe file...you flash the rom....then use titanium backup pro to restore your apps....

I actually did it in the right order. I already had the rom on the phone

ok, after you upgraded the ext2 to ext3, then went to ms/usb toggle, exactly what file/s did you put on the card?

im just trying to get a better understanding of what you meant by, you already had the rom on the phone?? did you try partitioning your card with the rom on the phone and then rebooted?

it seems like you partitioned your card, then placed the contents of your sd card that you had copied to your computer, back on to the sd card and rebooted, in which case its not gonna work....you have to reflash the rom...the only reason your copying the sd card is if you got all your backups from like titanium backup or sms backup or nandroids or pics, movies, music....etc...and you want all that stuff back after you partition....

Yep that's what I did. So now I have to go back to flashing the rom again in rooting for dummies? Where do I start?

ok, if you have the card partitioned now, then all you have to do is place whatever rom you downloaded (zip file) on the root of the sd card via ms/usb toggle....then go out to the main screen in your recovery and wipe the cache, dalvik cache, data, and sd ext then flash the superwipe zip (you may have to put it back on your sd card if it isnt there anymore since you partitioned), then flash the rom and reboot....

if you used titanium backup or any sms backup, then you would want to copy those over to the sd card as well before you flash the rom...

now that your partitioned, also you have to remember that anytime you make a nandroid, that you include the sd ext in it as well....and when you flash a new rom, you have to wipe the sd ext along with cache, dalvik cache, and data...

When I put the apps back on the phone from the back up do I put the apk's and the data back on at the same time?

I'm using My Backup Pro.

I have one more question. Since the apps that were on the SD card before, were not put there by a2sd, will a2sd now they belong on the SD card, or will I have to manually move them to the card?

I had to re-install all my apps by downloading them all again. Now that I have that done. I just seem to have one problem. I keep getting a message saying
The application Google Services Framework (processes.com.google.processes.gapps) has stopped unexpectedly please try again. Then there is a a button under it that says "force close"

try wiping dalvik cache and cache.

Well that didn't work. I had to turn off the sync for the calendar. The problem aparently came from restoring form My backup pro. I don't need to sync the calendar right now. so I have some time to work on that.
Here is the pressing problem. I had to reset my google password. Now the sync is not syncing for google and the contacts are not working. Am I going to have to delete my google acct from the phone to fix it?

I'm running mid rom 2.52I want to upgrade to the newest ver,and I am wondering how to do that exactly? Can I upgrade from this edition to the newest one directly, or do I have to step up to it?

i think that the easiest way is to just download and flash mikg2.58. just make sure to use
1.titanium backup to backup your apps and its data
2.make a nandroid backup
3.wipe at least dalvik cache, cache, and data
4.flash the vr superwipe
5.flash the latest mikg2.58

and you are now updated.
you can get more directions in the http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all...ooting-dummies-guide-gingerbread-edition.html.

I'm having another little problem. In goolge my contacts and gmail sync fine but the calendar causes the google acct to shut down and won't sync. Any idea what I can do to fix this?
