My rooted Sprint Evo LTE keeps turning off on me and then it shows it needs a update. What should I do? Should I unroot the phone then update the phone? Let know, thanks take care.

Welcome to AF, garc8509! Rooting doesn't always preclude accepting an update. If you are still running the stock recovery, you can accept an OTA. The only thing is, usually OTAs break root, so you will need to re-root your phone afterwards. Check out this forum for more information: Evo 4G LTE - All Things Root - Android Forums Thanks for signing up! :)

I moved your thread to the proper support section here. Welcome aboard.

welcome to the forums!!!!!!!!!
what rom are you on? i would not accept the ota while you are rooted. if you use this advice going forward on any rooted phone you should be ok. if you accept the ota there is a good chance that you will have an hboot that you can't get s-off. you will be able to unlock the bootloader and still root the phone. but it will make things harder for you in the long run.

here check this out:http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-lte...panda-s-htc-dev-ltevo-root-dummies-guide.html
skip down to the second post for more root info.

Don't accept the OTA! Doing so could prevent you from being able to get s-off!

We need more information from you before you do anything. Whats your hboot? What method did you use to root? What Rom are you on?

Thanks Rx, I'm used to Nexus devices, so didn't think about the ramifications for HTC phones.
