Root [rooted] Uninstalling apps generates an error (error states not enough memory)

Recently I've noticed after uninstalling an app and trying to reinstall it fails and says I dong have space. Only for that app though. Another oddity is gmail keeps on giving me an error when I send attachments. Cannot preview or something

recently after what? did these issues occur after you removed or added an app?

is this post the latest update?

have you done a hard soft reset? (hold down power the vol button for greater tan 10 seconds)

are you rooted?

what app or apps are you uninstalling?

did these issues start happening AT THE SAME TIME?

have you went into storage and used the feature to free up memory?

how much working memory do you have?

the gmail issue is probably short term. i would search the threads about gmail on this sub forum.

do you use live wallpapers? have a lot of icons on the home screens?

LOL...

so you are rooted.. that changes the game a bit.

what ROM are you using? maybe give the dev a shout? maybe others who use the same ROM may be able to chime in....

Also may be a good idea to nandroid, then flash a stock Rom. Update your PRL and data profile then either restore your nandroid or wipe that thing clean and fresh install CM10, or your Rom of choice.
Personally I'd start super fresh and clean with a new download and install of the Rom. Something ain't jiving in there somewhere.

Have a look in /cache and /data/dalvik-cache for any leftover .apk or .tmp files - and remove anything inside /cache/recovery in case something is preventing cache cleaning there - then reboot.

Also, please do -

adb shell

Then once inside, please do -

df -h

Please post here using code tags so it's readable -

Code:
1|root@android:/ # df -h
Filesystem Size Used Available Use% Mounted on
tmpfs 340.0M 136.0K 339.9M 0% /dev
/dev/block/mmcblk0p35
                          1.2G 763.5M 464.8M 62% /system
/dev/block/mmcblk0p37
                          2.1G 1.4G 748.6M 66% /data
/dev/block/mmcblk0p36
                        220.5M 16.1M 204.4M 7% /cache

I have to agree with most here that you need to tear down and restart from fresh (no need to reroot) put the stock rom on and get it working like you want then do a nandroid. Place then a newly dl'ed ROM and try setting it up like you want. Instead of doing batch operations with TB maybe restore one app at a time see if putting on any app causes you to start having issues. Also instead of deleting apps just freeze them at first give the ROM a day or two to settle with out them if still issues try freezing things one at a time and see where the problems start. note what seems to cause what issues and present it to the dev's they can use useful information like this to help make better ROMS which in the end is something we all want.

It doesn't fix the problem. Still have to reboot and while cache dalvik fix permissions.
