Root Rooted user in need of assistance

well for me i love aosp roms. the are roms that do not have sense loaded on top of the android os......so this means that they are small in size and seems to have better performance IMO.

for sense then the king will always be mikg3.11

OK so i have followed everything. I am unlocked, I have the recovery installed, and when i try to go to "Choose zip from sdcard" so i can run the superwipe, then install the ROM, it says:

E: Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 (or /dev/block/mmcb1k0)
(No such file or directory)
E:Can't mount /sdcard
 
oh, and for some reason, i can only boot into recovery IF i am plugged into the computer via usb... without the usb i choose recovery and it starts to reboot, then goes to a black screen and the little light at the top starts flashing.
 
Turns out the phone is not reading the SD card at all... Any idea why that could be? it's the same on both my SD cards... What file system is it supposed to be formatted to????

It sure did!!! however I am now running into yet another problem.... I went through the installer for the ROM you suggested, and when it had me reboot it went to a black screen with the little light at the top flashing.... only thing i can do is pull the battery... WHen i try to turn the phone back on, it comes back to the same thing....... I'll try installing one more time...
 
Tried installing again, after wiping cache, dalvik cache, and data. Not sure if it's relevant but in the end it says Finished and Installation status 0

I'm going to bed for now, i will check this first thing in the morning to see if there are any other ideas. Google search tells me that black screen with the blinking light is due to a low battery, but without being in the actual android itself i cannot see the battery life, so i will let it charge over night and try again.

Nice you got it going!! Almost anyways.

When I flash roms, as Ocn said, be sure to make a nandroid backup. It's like a computer restore point, except for the phone.
And I usually wipe everything EXCEPT the sd card..and I wipe 2 or 3 times, then flash...
 
Regretably it is still not working. I have tried doing the wipe 3 or 4 times then flashing and so on and i get nothing... i'm going to download a different ROM and try that... maybe that will work.... Right now i'm losing hope :(

Everything I try ends up with the black screen and the blinking light at the top.
 
It must have been ROM related. I installed MikG v3.11 and now everything is working GREAT! Thank you all so very much! I will be sure to come back HERE if i need any further assistance!!!! Now I am just trying to find some way to optimize it because with this sense ROM it's still running kinda laggy.
 
Well, try letting it run for a day or two.
If it gets really annoying as far as lag, we can tweak some kernel setttings or try a different kernel..

Orrrr, try decks reloaded. :)
 
my hdmi is not working im rooted its a black screen come up on my tv with sound but no picture i need help i have htc evo 4g

what rom and kernel are you on?

geez it has been awhile since talking about hdmi mirroring on the og evo.....there used to be an app that you needed in conjunction with a kernel that has support for it. but i can't remember if that is still needed with the current roms/kernels.
