Rooting Android 4.0.4 - GT-A7100

Hey Guys, Please help me out here i've bought SPRD GT-A7100 its Running Android 4.0.4 I Wanted To Root It And I've Looked All Over Youtube And Google i Couldnt Find Anything If You Guys Can Be Help Me Out Here Will Be Really Thankfull To You

And Is There Anyway i Can Update The OS?

Specs -
Ram - 230 MB
Model - GT-A7100
Processor - Cortex a5 1Ghz

just so you know not all phones are rootable. for me i will always get a phone that has a good dev community behind it.....even if you can root it, no devs=not much you can do with it. it is not worth the risk without a custom recovery. messing with a rooted phone and no recovery runs the risk of bricking it......just my .02
 
Actually, i've seen people have rooted this phone and i also wanted to know that when i check the sytem info it says Android 4.0.4 and when i download something from Google Play which Reqs 4.0.3+ i'm unable to download it and when i reboot or turn on the phone i see HoneyComb logo at starting PS. This Phone Does Have Root Accese. :/

this is why i will never get an off brand device.....just no support.

I See, Thanks Thought But Anyway i Can Make it Faster and Like Update OS? i dont to use the current one i want like 4.1+?

you can't as there is no dev to port a the higher android os. plus you do not have a custom recovery to flash it.

like i said no dev=no fun:( for a rooted phone.

and the same goes for speed. all that cool stuff needs a dev community behind it.

the only thing you can do is delete bloatware. but you really need to be careful as some of that bloatware maybe tied in with other system apps and you might make your phone act weird or even not work at all. and with no recovery to restore the phone back to....you can easily brick it by deleting the wrong thing.
 
Yeah when buying a phone, id rather buy an old popular, well supported one than a new unsupported one at the same price. rooting it just lets you into the guts of the phone but without 3rd party firmware (rom/kernel) built for the phone, theres not much you can do to to improve performance :(
 
I See, and actually i dont really have alot of money or afford atlest a use android branded phone and how do you delete boltware? i tryed to remove some but it said error and all that is there any programs for it? i want to Remove Go keyboard Frozen Keyboard thats all :D
 
btw there are some tutoirals on how to root this phone safe'ly but its in french i dont speak french lol so i gusse i can just use it as a normal phone with wifi!

in order to delete bloatware you need to root the phone. doing it on a non rooted phone will not happen. after it is rooted you will need to get superuser app found in the play store...this will give you root permission to access the system partition. without permission you can't delete anything.

plus like i said, deleting bloatware without a recovery is a huge risk.
 
you can use a file explorer like ES but when i was new to android i used an app called System App Remover. It colour codes apps that are safe to remove but dont rely on what it says. Always make sure you backup an app first or freeze it first :thumbup:

One More Thing, Haha When i first got the phone it had samsung gsn2 boot animation after i reset the phone i got simple android animation and when i looked inside the system i found a zip file with the samsung boot animations in anyway i can get the samsung look back so atlest i can fake to my friends i got a real samsung phone LOL?

i went to ES File Expolorer > Device > System > Media >it was there with 2 diff boot animations " 1 SPRD Boot Animation 2 Android Boot Animation 3 Samsung Galaxy Note 2 n7100 Animation" in the bootanimation2.zip < the samsung one it has 2 folders 1 -f1 2nd is f2 and one text file its named desc.txt
 
LOL i dont when it gets slow and all that i do it sometimes. and mostly i dont get time to charge it so it shuts down
 
Oh Okay, lol i used to use clean master but when i got the app cache cleaner its way better then the Clean Master :D Thanks For Advice^^
 
Uhm, Guys how do i actually check out which android version i'm using? cause i'm confused because when i turn on my phone or reboot all that i see HoneyComb 3.0 android and when i check system info android 4.0.4 andd i saw on some website that this phone is gingerbread and its been hacked to say Ice Cream Sandwich.
